Survivor won’t stop sprinting

I was in a trial on my Playstation 4 when suddenly after healing a survivor my character was stuck doing a sprint throughout the rest of the trial. I couldn’t crouch, nor use perks such as dead hard. When entering lockers, exiting would result in a loud exit which would in return notify the killer. When changing direction my character would become all jittery and movement became unreadable. So from that point onward, the trial had become unplayable. I’ve already checked if it was an issue with my controller but after examining my shoulder buttons they were in complete good condition. I haven't experienced this bug since but thought it would be appropiate of me to bring into awareness.
