The killer equivalent of when a survivor DCs right before their 3rd hook

DCing right before the last survivor(s) escape. What are you guys accomplishing? In both situations you've already lost, and whether you DC or not has next to zero effect on anybody else. You, however, lose all emblems, bloodpoints, challenge or ritual progress, and you get a penalty. For the survivor who DCs, you actually help the killer a bit because they get to keep a hook and don't have to spend 5-15 seconds hooking. And for the killer who DCs, even if survivors didn't make it out of the exit in time .. it still counts as an escape for them.

So... why?
