Tips & Tricks on how to face the various killers
This isn't a surefire way to win, but some of these odds and ends might even the chances a little. I'll start with what I know:
General:
- Do totems. Especially when you think the killer is AFK. Do totems. Adrenaline and DS will do you no favour when you are faced with noed and/or devour.
Vs. Hag:
- You can crouch through traps and not activate them, and you can unhook while crouching and crouch again immediately.
- You can also crouch directly after getting unhooked.
- Hag cannot teleport when in an action, if you see she picked someone up/is breaking a palet etc, that's the time to run through her traps like a headless chicken.
Vs. Pig:
- Traps will activate when a gen pops.
- It's a pretty good approach to sneak around an 99 gens and only pop them when no one's wearing a trap.
Vs. Deathslinger:
- His hitbox is a hitDOT which gives him the advantage of ridiculous shots, but also makes dodging a bit easier. When in a chase don't trust on your eyes (a lot of people try to see when he'll shoot) trust your ears. He has a small windup time (not as long as Huntress', but longer than the nothing some people claim) with a distinct metallic screech, that can be enough to get out of the centre of the screen, making him miss.
- Map mobility and map generation are his weakness. usually there will be obstacles between him and generators when the match starts, so if you can figure where he'll start most likely, get that rock between you and him.
- M&A on him has to be against the Geneva Convention, but it's not unbeatable. Keep an eye open and move around the gen to repair if the position allows it. (Mind the rock)
Vs. Plague:
- There's people that insist on not cleansing. That's a left over from when she didn't have a corrupt pool from the start. Now she does, and only thing you'll get is the broken status. So cleanse as far away from the action as possible, if possible.
- cleansing heals you.
- walking doesn't increase the infection (correct me people if it was walking, it's been a while)
Vs. PyramidHead:
- People that stepped into barbwire can get rid of it by rescuing someone from a cage.
- you can crouch through the barbwire to not get affacted
Vs. Twins:
- if you crouch around victor when he's been stationed somewhere your aura won't show.
Comments
Vs. Trapper : never run in the grass, avoid it as much as you can especially around walls/buildings or pallets
Vs. Legion : if you get chased and they use their power, try to stay as far away as possible from your teammates.
Vs Oni : He suffers a lot until het gets his first hit. So hiding if he is around you at the start of the match can hurt him a lot.
Kinda niche but
Vs blight:
On his first rush, you can run into him and try and push him off course to make him mis his target
Vs Deathslinger:
-Never drop pallets unless you're already injured, because he can shoot you during the dropping animation and get you injured anyway.
-Crouch while being reeled in - this lowers your hitbox and makes it considerably harder to be hit through a window. Also move left or right while being reeled to make this next to impossible.
-If you're safe behind an object while being reeled and you're ABSOLUTELY CERTAIN he wants to break the chain and can't get around and hit you, don't struggle or try to break out. This wastes a lot of time for Slinger.
-Try to get a read on the Slinger's behaviour as early as you can. Does he like to ADS spam to zone? Does he go for skillshots? Does he only go for guaranteed shots in animation locks? Adjust your strategy on the fly and be as unpredictable as possible.
Vs Twins:
-Keep yourself and your team healed as much as you can. Being healed makes Victor significantly weaker, so the typical "stay injured and do gens" strategy isn't a good idea here.
-If injured, find another survivor to group up in a pair with. If the survivors go in pairs, Victor cannot do anything as he will be kicked during the successful pounce cooldown, and you should have the downed guy healed by the time Charlotte slowly lumbers over to you.
-Always assume Victor is at a hooked survivor. When getting within 16 metres (or about 3-4 seconds of running's worth) to a hooked survivor, start crouching towards the hook like you do with Hag. If you hear his shrieks, crouch over and kick him. If you don't, after a few seconds, run for the unhook normally. This also applies for slugged survivors - don't rush in without thinking or you will be punished.
-Kidnap Victor only when it's very bad for the Twins to not have Victor. This means when everyone is injured, at the start of the game, etc. Don't kidnap him every single time.
I’m no survivor main but a little reminder to group up against baby Victor (specifically when your injured) is the best strat to kick him early and not let him slug everybody.
I just dunno how to word it in a crisp short sentence lol.
As a legacy nurse main I gotchu
Move unpredictably
Break LOS
Don't run loops normally
Look at the nurse to see where she's most likely going to blink, most nurses aren't good enough to snap blink.
Look backward to bait a short blink
Don't look backwards then run backwards when hearing the blink chargeup
Don't run in a straight line if you have deadhard
Don't do a gigantic 360 around a wall staring at me to make it obvious you are going to double back
Hold tight corners on objects to bug out nurses blink
probably more I can't think of.
