Is VPN'ing bannable?

Was playing Solo survivor and just came across a Killer who openly admitted to VPN'ing.

I'm not gonna bother submitting a ticket as it takes too bloody long. Can't name the person because of forum rules, just wondering if they even would be banned.

This entire screenshot is clearly fake. Why aren’t all the survivors using Dead Hard, Unbreakable, BT and DS?

    lol

  • As I see it, it's a gray area. I think it's technically allowed as there is no explicit rule against it and I've never heard of anyone being banned for it, but it does fall under a rule about third party software:

"Using 3rd party software or other tools to gain any kind of unfair advantage that wasn’t intended by the game"

So in their words it shouldn't be allowed but I don't think they care enough about it to ban people for it.

  • There should be stricter ping limits on the players. Or favor the player with lower ping during hits. The screen of the lower ping player or the "virtual screen" of the server should decide hits, not the player with the higher ping.

It's funny because the devs claim that's the case. I know for a fact that it's not true though and you can easily test it for yourself by having low ping and still getting hit through Dead Hards and such.

Kinda difficult to hope for ping limiting when the devs themselves said that "150 ping is a pretty good ping". Consider that you get about 300 ping on a good connection if you go to the farthest server at the antipodes of the globe from your location. If 150 is pretty good according to them, 300 would probably be deemed mediocre. And that's as high as you could go without intentionally slowing down your connection. Which in turn tells me that every limit they would set would be so high to be essentially meaningless.
