My Guesses/Hopes for the Mori & Key Rework
With the announcement that Moris would be integrated into the core Killer gameplay, and that Keys would also be getting a rework pass, I started thinking of what they would do with it. So here's my guesses/hopes for the changes:
1) The Mori would be a reward for good Killer behavior. The goal is to allow Killers to mori survivors if they didn't camp or tunnel. So my guesses are:
- If all 4 survivors are in their first hook state, this would allow the Killer to mori the obsession after the obsession's second hook.
- If all 4 survivors are in their second hook state, this would allow the Killer to mori all survivors.
If a survivor DCs, then the above conditions would still apply as if there were one less survivor that started the match.
2) The Hatch will still spawn when the number of Generators repaired is equal to 1 + number of survivors left. And the Hatch will still spawn & open if there's 1 survivor left.
3) The Key would become an in-match-only item (like the vaccine and flashbang in the RE chapter). This would turn the current Key item into a purely aura-reading item (to something like 'Amulets', which would be a rework on its own).
The Key will spawn on a pedestal (like the crown from the anniversary event) and the pedestal aura is revealed to the survivor if they have the Left Behind perk. And there's only 1 Key per match. As for the timing, I thought of two conditions:
- The Key spawns once all 4 survivors are in their second hook state. If a survivor opens the Hatch using the Key, it remains open for 15 seconds (or until the Killer closes it) for any other survivor to escape through it.
- The Key also spawns (if it hadn't already) after the Killer has closed the Hatch (useful if the last survivor is not in their second hook state).
Comments
1) Promotes hooking everyone once and tunneling the obsession after the second hook to instantly kill them. That's 1 person down after only 5 hooks. This gets even worse with perks like Nemesis.
3) It would take a coordinated group of survivors less than a minute to find the key. What you are saying is now the survivors don't even need to bring a key to get a 2 man escape with 2 generators remaining. This is worse than how it is currently.
For the second Mori condition, I did think if the Killer is required to achieve the first condition before they could unlock the second one (the one where they can Mori all survivors).
For the Key thing, my thinking is that the Key is the counter to Moris. So generally, if the survivors are Mori-able, they can escape via Key. If the Killer thinks the survivors are playing for Key, then they could just not go for Moris.
In a separate thread, someone did say the Killer either could see the pedestal aura, or can destroy it they find it.
