The thing that boggles my mind about Trickster...

... Is how the Killer with arguably the most bland and uninspired power in the entire game has some of the most interesting addons we've ever seen.

Not GOOD, per se. But really, really cool.

With the exception of Diamond Cufflinks, which is just a generic aura addon, every single one of Trickster's purples and pinks has a really cool effect.

Trick Blades make his knives ricochet. Cut Thru U makes his knives pierce through Survivors. Edge of Revival makes his knives frickin' EXPLODE. These are all really, REALLY cool effects that give his power dramatic new abilities.

As for the pinks? Photocard could use a bit of work, seeing as how you have to be a 110 M1 Killer to get value out of it, but it's one of the most well-balanced Exposed addons we've ever been given. And Death Throes Compilation? COMPLETELY changes the way you play. His power becomes a close-range spam machine that is designed to allow you to throw away knives like Tic-Tacs without being punished into a power that rewards carefully placing your knives and punishes missing them by increasing your Laceration drastically if you land consecutive throws or hit a Survivor from a longer range. It takes his power and turns it completely on its head. Reverses the fundamentals. It's an extremely cool addon, even if the risk usually outweighs the reward, and is honestly my favorite addon they've ever added.

With all that said, though, I really need to ask two questions.

  1. Why can't all addons be this good? Most purple and pink addons for Killers are extremely generic, often being little more than number buffs or stealth/aura-reading effects that remain pretty much the same from one Killer power to the other. Trickster's addons blow every other Killer out of the water in terms of their creativity, bar maybe Myers. They provide interesting, unique effects that heavily alter Trickster's power. THESE ARE WHAT PINK AND PURPLE ADDONS SHOULD BE.
  2. Why couldn't this creativity be poured into Trickster's basekit? You have these super cool addons for a Killer who is little more than Huntress with a higher hatchet count and faster hatchet throwing speed. The cool, game-changing addons contrast with the uninspired, copy-paste laziness of Trickster's power so starkly that it leaves me disappointed beyond measure. Why couldn't these quality addons have been used for a Killer whose power, at the very least, tried something new, like Twins or Nemesis?
