I love this perk so much. It so fun and it's actually really good... if you're lucky of course. Skill Checks are random. Sometimes you'll get a lot of them, and sometimes you won't get a single Skill Check. I wanted Autodidact to be more reliable, so it feels nicer to use.

    When we use this perk, skill checks have to be more. That is reason of this perk is not meta.

    It can be bad if you have no token and you try to heal a dying state teammate and skill checks pops up. That can causes problems for that person. But other than that it is fine but I think with med-kits you can do nearly same job as Autodidact was. Personally it seems rewarding but actually it is not that much.
