How can a game have so bad servers?

A lot of people buy the rift
A lot of people buy skins
A lot of people buy dlc characters
Now my question.
Why are the servers so bad?! They make so much money and always is there something wrong with the servers. Buy more or better ones but use the money you are earning!

Maybe I am just lucky because games come for me really fast. I wait like maybe 20 secs between games for the next match. Then again I play solo survivor which kinda sucks and would happily wait longer for better teammates lol.
