I de-pip after getting Ruthless Killer?

Surreal

I went into a match as a rank 5 (no pips) Trapper and got Ruthless Killer. I had 2 gold and 2 iridescent at the end of the match, and instead of giving me a pip towards rank 4, it took a pip away and now I'm at rank 6 and 4 pips. Someone DCed at the start of the match after I hooked them (don't know if that could have caused a bug) but I just wanted to report this since it might not only be happening to me.
