Shaking up the DBD Formula and potentially improving it

Balance is nightmarishly hard to bring to dbd. But there are a lot of potential fixes that could make games more exciting and less snowbally. First lets address the early game. This is undoubtedly one of the worst points for a killer. All hands on gens and not a lot of ways to minimize gen loss. This has already been suggested but its worth reiterating there should be a 30 second grace period where all gens are blocked and totems remain unlit. This helps the scenarios where all survivor spawn apart on larger maps where you can instantly lose 2-3 gens in the first 2-3 minutes of the game. I would also like to see pallets gradually spawn into the game as the game progresses. This means that the pallet count can be lower at the start and a survivor can't waste all the good pallets for others. This also helps survivors in the late game giving them more pallets to play with.

Mid game is when the killer and survivor are on an equal position provided the early game doesn't put the killer far behind or the survivors don't group up and make some horrible mistakes. It would be wise to consider a catch up mechanic for survivor if they lose a teammate early as the 3 v 1 in dbd is woefully unbalanced in favor of killer. An increase to action speed for survivor would go a long way to allowing the survivor role to actually stand a chance of turning the game around if they lose a survivor. However a killer who spreads out there hooks should be rewarded with a mori upon hooking all survivors once. This mori bypasses the second hook state and mean that a killer is rewarded for spreading out hooks and discourages tunneling. All survivor's need to be hooked once so its not like any survivor was robbed of a chance to avoid it.

Finally the late game which survivors try best to avoid due to it being horribly one sided for the killers. Survivors will no longer have to worry about a lack of pallets as they will be gradually spawning in. Due to dbd's nature of making the late game unlikely I'm not sure what else needs to be addressed but A lot of these ideas can theoretically break the game or be difficult to implement in a balanced manner. But dbd should be shaking up its formula to keep the experience fresh. Maybe test some of these ideas in some alternative game modes would go a long way to make dbd a more exciting game and give dedicated players something fresh.
