Killer and Survivor Character Stereotypes
(Disclaimer, none of this is to be taken seriously, it's all in good fun, don't be offended if a character you play gets a bad wrap, also this is based on my personal experience, feel free to add your personal experience to this if you want)
Trapper: Trapper mains are always one of 3 things, New players who have no idea where to place good traps or even how to play the game, Otzdarva wannabes who watch one guide and think they'll 4k every game and get really ticked off when survivors don't constantly fall in their traps, or Galaxy brain 1000 hour Trapper mains who know exactly what you are going to do at all times and what traps will catch people off guard
Wraith: Wraith mains are the boomers of the DBD community, insanely stubborn and stuck in their ways, they will go to the ends of the earth to prove Wraith can be good at reds against good teams to basically no avail, also constantly beg for Bone Clapper and yellow Windstorm to be made basekit
Hillbilly: Hillbilly mains have still not forgiven BHVR for nerfing him into the ground and i entirely see why, the cooldown and overheat was entirely unneeded, as for in game, they still think they're playing pre-rework Hillbilly and spam chainsaw swings, usually end up missing and DCing after missing a single swing on a half competent survivor or when their chainsaw overheats
Nurse: The Alphas of DBD, Nurse mains are terrifying monsters that can end matches on a whim, however most Nurse players are either entirely clueless or (in my case) hard carried by the Flannel, either way, expect a fast match
Huntress: Huntress mains spent way too much time playing FPS's growing up and after listening Russian hardbass for a few hours have fully converted and embraced the life of inconsistent as hell hatchets, also have a...interesting preference in art
Myers: Myers mains are surprisingly chill people who play him because he's seen as the most balanced killer in the game, unless they're new players, in which case they will get 360ed constantly and rage camp the first person they down with NOED at the end of the game
Hag: Hag mains are either new players who have similar problems to trapper, trolls who think being able to place traps underneath a hooked survivor is balanced, or master level tacticians who can mindgame you simply by existing and make you walk into 5 different traps you swear weren't there 5 seconds earlier
Doctor: Doctor mains play him for 2 reasons, one, they like his giggle, or 2, they like watching people DC
Bubba: *face camping with NOED intensifes*
Freddy: Freddy mains are dreading when their precious snares and teleports are going to be nerfed, in the mean time, they do the exact same thing every match, find someone, spam snares, get a free down, make the game last literal years, repeat ad infinitum
Pig: Pig mains would probably follow Jigsaw around IRL given how devious and tactical some of them are, or they're playing her for snoot boop memes, one or the other
Clown: Clown mains are people who enjoy outplaying people in immensely stupid ways using both types of bottles, or just enjoy his laugh, which is enough of a reason to play him
Spirit: Spirit mains are either extremely chill or extremely toxic, no in between, if they're chill they'll play like normal, running decently strong addons with a powerful build while still giving survivors a chance to actually play the game, toxic Spirits always run Stridor, Ruin, Undying and BBQ with OP addons and a mori and will make sure that survivors are not allowed to have fun in the slightest, which is why they almost always DC the second the last gen is done because they spent the entire match tunneling one guy instead of applying pressure
Legion: Legion mains are the coolest people around, and by that I mean they're trying way too hard to seem cool by blasting Three Days Grace or Linkin Park at full volume while playing, dressing in full black with a trenchcoat every day regardless of climate and constantly feigning apathy and trying to act tougher then they actually are, I'd say I respect the commitment if they didn't give me constant serial killer vibes, also they ship Suzie with Shadow for some reason and I do not why
Plague: I legit worry about Plague mains given how she was basically completely left in the dust with several bugs that make using her power harder then it has any right to, you don't see them around very often but when you do they are generally pretty successful, usually beg for some sort of new cosmetic whenever the topic gets bought up
Ghostface: Ghostface mains scare me, not in a "You are genuinely terrifying" way but more of a "I can't see where you are coming from because i almost never run Spine Chill and now you've grabbed me and the loud sound gave me a heart attack" sort of way, other then that, they usually complain about how wonky and busted the reveal mechanic is
Demogorgon: Demo mains are very chill, in it for the fun and usually end up doing something ridiculous with Shred by the end of the match, whether it's landing a 360 shred, landing a shred from the balconies on Haddonfield or ending up in a random tree, also would totally adopt a Demodog as a pet if they existed irl
Oni: Oni mains are Ex-Hillbilly mains who moved on after the rework and now abuse Oni's high speed to do some REALLY dumb manoeuvres, or DC after missing every single Demon Strike, one or the other
Deathslinger: Deathslinger mains have played way too much CSGO, and as such have unrivalled aim and hair trigger reflexes, however i've noticed that they either hit all of their shots or miss all their shots, not sure why, oh, and they ship him with Huntress, again, do not know why
Pyramid Head: PH Mains are hardcore Silent Hill fans, yeah, that's it
Blight: Blight mains like playing Pinball and pretty much complain constantly about his broken camera and wonky hitboxes, other then that they pretty much give fun matches for both sides regardless of skill level
Twins: Twins mains are absolutely non-existent, and the people who do play them are well...mediocre, they like making memes about Victor though
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dwight: you can tell the difference between the 2 different types of Dwight Main, If they have a hat or hair, they're chill team players or newbies who generally hide in a locker at the first moment they hear a heartbeat, if they're bald, leave the lobby, for they are EXTREMELY toxic, i'm talking running the DS UB SG DH build with a commodious toolbox and a full 4man SWF bully squad levels of toxic.
Meg: Meg Mains are Usually very new and very foolish, they play her because she has 2 very strong perks and think they will help them learn, they generally stop playing her when they get her to level 40, or they keep playing her and get to a decent or high skill level
Claudette: Claudette mains are actually useless, if they have P3 good luck finding them, they always burn either a Yamoka map offering or a murky reagent, always bring a key and always bring Urban, hilariously they are actually effective as a distraction since if the killer spends the entire match fruitlessly bumping into bushes looking for someone who's actually on the other side of the map you have plenty of time to do gens
Jake: if they have default they're new to the game, if they have a set of cosmetics, be prepared for anything, Jake mains are smart and tactical and typically specialise on one thing while being decent at everything else, they will either use stealth to hide to make the killer waste time looking for them or they make perfect use of every pallet and window on the map usually without need for multiple 2nd chances (xcoughNeamainscoughx). Also beg for some edgier cosmetics and ship him with Yui
Nea: Nea mains are similar to Dwights, they are either new to the game or mega toxic, if they have bright colours and flashy cosmetics then do not bother with that lobby, for they are out to make you miserable
Laurie: Laurie mains are very annoyed that 2 of their absolutely busted perks are getting rightfully toned down, usually do not know how to actually play and rely way too hard on DS
Ace: Ace mains are surprisingly good, if they have the golden bathrobe cosmetic on they are either good at the game or are a TruTalent wannabe
Bill: Bill mains are either new to the game or are being useless on purpose for a meme, and too their credit it's usually pretty funny, just don't expect them to actually help win the match
Feng: if Gens Before Friends was a person it would be Feng mains, they usually bring strong toolboxes and generally stick to gens before helping you, unless they're Bunny Fengs, in which case it's the reverse, where they will save you before even touching a gen
David: David mains are BP farmers, they will go to the ends of the earth to get 4 WGLF stacks and sometimes bring DH not to extend chases but to save you before you go into struggle phase, those people earn a salute every time they do it
Quentin: Quentin mains are a combination of memelord and toxic butt monkey, not in how they talk but how they play, by spamming T-bags and Flashlights at every single pallet even if they waste it entirely and then go down 5 seconds later, usually DCs if they go down first and are almost always seen with Neas in a SWF
Tapp: FNAF security guard cosplayers, i do not know why this is so widespread for me but most Tapps i've seen burn a Game offering just to go to the room with all the monitors and pretend they're a security guard, if someone can explain to me why they do this i would be so happy
Kate: Kate mains are a jack of all trades, not good at any one thing but decent at everything, they can do well in chases, are good at hiding and will go for saves if you are about to die, they are also a jack of all trades in personality, they can be decently nice or somewhat toxic, only teabagging when they outplay the killer with a 360 into a pallet stun
Adam: *haha Deliverance and Diversion go brrrrr*
Jeff: Jeff mains are part of the Church of Jeff, where they praise the almighty Jeff and those who following him are granted Jeffly powers and...other Jeff things i don't know, anyways, they're really Altruistic, they will go out of their way to defend people near them, not even for WLGF stacks like David mains, nah, they just do it because they can
Jane: Jane mains teabag a lot, and i'm pretty sure it's not to be toxic, i'm pretty sure it's just because Jane is...well...packing a lot of extra cake, also draw some...strange things with her
Ash: Ash mains only play him for the voicelines and for MoM memes, don't expect much from them
Nancy: Nancy mains have a reputation for being rubbish in chase but good at everything else, and it's not hard to see why, they can get gens done very fast and go down just as quickly
Steve: if a Steve is default, he's mediocre at best, if he's P3, he's a sweatlord, if he's Scoops Ahoy, he's a memelord
Yui: Yui mains are basically female Jake mains only where Jakes focus on chase and stealth, Yui's focus on gens and keeping the team alive, which is why the 2 are shipped so often together
Zarina: *haha For The People go brrrrrr*
Cheryl: Cheryl players are also Silent Hill fans, except most of them are also probably from the COD community because good lord if i had a penny everytime one of them insulted/made fun of me in post game chat i would be able to cover my teeth in gold
Felix: Felix mains are item goblins, to the point where if you open a chest in front of them and you don't give them the item they will do everything in their power to see you die, whether it be wasting pallets, spamming windows, or straight up leaving you on the hook during EGC and leave while laughing and giving you the finger, unfortunately for them, the feeling is very much mutual and i have never saved a Felix that actively tried to sabotage me in my life
Elodie: Elodie mains are masochists, they've already broken every bone in their body and "accidently" spilled their own blood quite often, so all they have left to do is to break their sense of hearing, which is why most of them die very quickly
what stereotypes have you run into?
Comments
Well, i always liked tactical games so i guess it makes sense that i like to play as Trapper too.
Jeff you're bang on with. We have our special Jeffly powers for following the best survivor out there.
You're kinda accurate with some of the killers I play too. For Clown, I just love the stupid plays you can do and his amazing laughing. His yellow bottles mess with survivors so much cause half the time they're not expecting a 125% clown to round the corner. You're also right with Bubba...to an extent. Take it as you will.
However with Billy, Legion and PH you're far off. Billy I was actually fine with his rework for the most part, I already know I'm not cool so Legions is out of the hat, and I still don't actually know what Silent Hill is about.
Did I take this too seriously? Probably. Is it a great post that I love? Absolutely!
I am a Jane main and I do not teabag I’m more of a nodding person.
i do main clown and yes I love his laugh
