hex rework idea: assigning hexes to dull totems

instead of hex totems being randomly set at the start of a trial the killer can find a dull totem and assign their hex perks to that totem. this would make it so your hex doesn't spawn on top of survivors.

for example if you want to start building stacks for devour hope you would need to find a dull totem and assign devour to a dull totem, otherwise it wouldn't gain any.

let's say you have haunted grounds and devour. you've set your devour hope at a dull totem built up 3 stacks of devour and you want to throw the survivors off from cleansing it. you could set haunted grounds to a very visible totem spot and have a chance of snowballing.

of course existing hex perks would need to be changed to account for this.

i really just want there to be more variety in hex perks and how they are used because currently there are like 2 viable hex perks and its kind of boring. i think making hexes more active would make them fun.

what do you think of my idea and what would you change about hex perks?

  • I think this is a pretty neat idea.

Alternatively I think it would be cool if hex totems didn't activate until like 5-10 seconds in because if someone spawns on a totem they just cleanse it, ESPECIALLY if it's a lit totem.

Idk. I want something to be done about the whole survivor spawning in literally on top of your hex totem thing.
