Custom Games Cause De-Pip

Custom Games currently cause you to lose actual pips for the real game. Was looking at the new maps with a friend and his game crashed, he deranked from rank 1 to 2 as a result. We thought it was maybe just an issue with the new map and we tried loading into a non-changed map but instead of him getting the de-pip we both did. When I went back into the main menu the pip returned but upon restarting my game, the pip seems to be gone forever.
To reproduce, literally just join a custom game (start match) and then have one person leave. You will lose a pip, without a doubt.
It occurs every time you leave a custom game or would normally depip for a game.
