It still pays to brush up on powers and perks every once in a while by clicking on “character info”

Let’s be real. This game is starting to get LOADED with a LOT of modifiers, and i can appreciate that it can sometimes get confusing for the newer players.

But even as a long time player, it’s still a healthy habit to do 1 of 2 things every now and then.

Click on “Character Info”, which not only lets you know details about the currently selected character, but let’s you scroll pages on other characters in your currently selected category (survivor or killer) without changing characters while you’re scrolling/reading. You can hover your cursor over the perk icons for a pop up of a full description of its function, and if you’re scrolling through killers, you can do the same by hovering your cursor over their power icon.

Another healthy habit, especially if you were confused or suspicious about something in the match, is to take your time on the loadout screen in the post match results (last page), and again hover your cursor over any perks, items, add ons, offerings, powers that you are unfamiliar with to read the description of how it functions. If you’re a dead survivor, this might mean having some patience and spectating the remainder of the match in order to see what the killer was using.

We can sometimes easily suspect hacking in this game, when it may innocently have been something equipped or a killer power that a player didn’t even know much about.

One last thing. It never hurts to take the time to read up all the info in “how to play”, particularly to get familiar with status effects. We don’t have a great tutorial, so “How to Play” is the best we have. It’s a good idea to revisit these text pages after having played for a little bit so that things that didn’t make sense the first time, click in your mind after being exposed to more of the features in this game.
