Making sense of gen auras as survivor

Noob-ish question. When playing a survivor and a gen is highlighted, how do I know the difference between Better Together, Red Herring, or Pyramid Head Trail of Torment? If you can't tell, is it best to head toward it because at worst it's neutral action (double up on gen) and at best it's disabling ToT?

Comments

  • Better Together and TOT cause the same aura to show

Red Herring makes the aura to change for you not everyone else

Yea go to the gen is best... but be careful

If you're still not sure use Bond and you'll know which is which

  • Red Herring turns the aura of the gen Red for only you to see.

ToT and Better Together can be tricky, as they both turn the aura of the gen Yellow for every survivor.

Better Together causes other survivors within 32m to see the aura of the gen only when the survivor with the perk is working on that gen.

If you see the gen highlighted in Yellow and there aren’t any survivors there working on it when you arrive, it’s ToT.

Also, if you see a gen is highlighted in White, that’s Repressed Alliance (Cheryl’s perk). RA blocks the gen for 60/70/80sec so the killer can’t kick it.
