Freddy PS5 and Series X

Hello, I noticed before todays update that Freddy wasnt in the new gen consoles and I assumed because of his license reverting back to Wes Craven estate. After the update I noticed he was added back BUT its showing that I have to purchase him again. Is that a glitch or do we have to buy freddy again?

    I play on PC, but my friends play on Xbox.

    According to one of them who moved to the Series X, you shouldn't have to buy Freddy again, you should just be able to play as him.
