Dear adepts of "talking on comms doesn't make survivors OP", here's an experiment for you to conduct

Here's an interesting experiment for you.

find some good killer player (or a player of your level, equal amount of hrs and so on) and ask him to sit on something not ######### tier and not spirit tier and play against him 5-7 games with comms and then 5-7 games without comms on exactly same setup.

Increase amount of games played to minimise random map gen influence on results. It still may have some effect, but it wouldn't be huge if you choose a map like Badham or mcmillan variation with a mine.

Try avoid using items or offerings as they might tempt with the outcome. Use same builds in every one of these games, same addons on killers and so on.

Play equally, good and tryhard if possible, because if people aren't playing at their best any balance discussions are futile.

Play a few games together before starting counting games so you and the killer get used to each other and that factor will less tempt with the outcome

Look at general feeling of how easy/hard is it go through the match, how effective are moves of survivors and how are the coping with killer's pressure with/without comms, how quick survivors are doing their objectives, how coordinated are they and so on. Escapes/kills matter less since games can be turned upside-down easily, but amount of hooks and amount of gens done in same periods of time every match could also show something.

This post wasn't made because OP was tilted after SWF game since OP hasn't been playing for a few weeks because his favourite killer has been ruined (Doctor's chase music RIP), I'm just curious to see the results. If you are conducting this experiment for public, please bother to stream and record these 10-14 games, thanks.

I'm not expecting polar results, but I am willing to bet they will be very different.

  • Personally, I'm convinced SWFs are strong for two reasons that aren't voice chat, although voice chat can be pretty frustrating when you're a stealth killer or running hex perks.

The first being you remove survivor spots on the team that the Urban Evasion Spine Chill do-nothing stealth potatoes that go down 5 seconds into chase will fill into. No teammates hook farming you in front of the killer without BT, people actually doing gens if the killer camps or tunnels, etc.

The second being that actual good players are tired of being grouped with aforementioned players so they only play SWF. Leading to SWFs having better players in general on them.

This is 100% what I came here to write. When I play with my friends we dont co-ordinate. We've played enough and know how we each play to know what everyone is doing. We just laugh at eachother and make childish jokes over comms. That is all.
