Why does the Blighted Serum not only deactivate after the event for Killers, but STAY for Survivors?

Sorry, Im at work and can't look that up right now. But people were asking about it all through his stream so it may come up in a couple of places.
Why is there this, survivors this killer that. If you want something for killer you don't need to involve survivors in anyway. This comes across as childish whining.
In addition to that , the offerings stop showing up on the bloodweb for survivors, so after the event it will be super rare to run across a survivor who has the add-on.
We all know the answer :)
The killer one is just stupid and unconvinient tbh.
