PROPS and not props

at the end of each game you have the option to report or "give props" to another player

what does giving props do? and if it has any real effect why isnt there the opposite where you can call someone out for being a bad teammate? but if it has no effect then WHY IS IT THERE?

what purpose does it serve?

    Originally it served as a way for those who were given props a lot ingame rewards. Perhaps if it had taken off DbD would be a much less toxic game, but right now its ignored and forgotten.
