Would it be possible, to have an "item pass" in the future, like killers are getting addon passes?
Ie since items are different in that they bring essentially the survivors variant of a power to the table, and how older killers are getting the 20 addon treatment, vs the lower amount of addons missing ultra rare etc...
Would it be possible to get the 5 different raritys as forms of items, with 20 addons each, two ultra rares, 4 very rares etc? ie everything would then fit the standard of having 4 commons, 5 uncommons, 5 rare, 4 very rare and two ultra rare. with items having a bare minimum of one of each rarity (with perhaps the toolbox being the exception, due to having multiple different uses, but at the same time could also have a rarity rework.
ie, medkits would have 7 more addons neccessary to fill the gap, and an ultra rare variant of the medkit.
ie toolboxes as their a rather special case with 6 different versions already, could split off after the rare tier, and have 2 sets dedicated to sabo/gens/general usage, also needing 9 more addons to fill out the addon category.
keys would have a common/uncommon variant, and need 11 more addons. buffed/nerfed accordingly etc.
maps would need 11 more addons, and 3 other variants.
flashights would get an uncommon and an ultra rare, and need 7 more addons to fill the 20 addon standard.
-----
This would make every item have 5 tiers to it, and 20 addons. the tiers for items would be more centered around their use case, (ie toolboxes having sabo/repair variants, whilst medkits have selfcare vs altruistic variants) whilst addons become more transformative, with either straight buffs or nerfs in rare occasions (more akin to the silent toolbox addon, vs say the socket swivels or brand new part).
I would say that items could use the "20 different style as well" but that would i feel bloat the item section incredibly, beyond what adding just extra addons with additional effects would do. No one really wants 4 different variants of the toolbox's common, but i think a lot of people could stand to have a few more raritys to items without them, with a lot more transformative addons for their tools.
TLDR: items could use an addon pass, and additional raritys/versions of pre-existing items, with the best variants that we have now delegated to ultra rares, with progressively worse effects towards the common variants. the map has only two versions of the item, when it would fit perfectly well to have 5. whereas the the key could use another 11 addons as it has less then even the flashlight. items could be rebalanced around this as well, as addons can't be found mid match without "ace in the hole". the toolbox could also be worked around this as it already has 6 variants of the item, whereas maps only have 2, which is odd. speed/vs sabo effects could be delegated to addons in this case, with different toolboxes having different efficencys and effects tied to them.

I guess that would be cool but your bloodweb would be sooooooo extremely cluttered that it will be almost impossible to get the items, addons and offerings you want
getting an add on pass for killers, okay I guess. I think it's a bad idea. there is already a free to play economy in this not free to play game. and it's bad enough.
What... What do you mean free to play economy? Are you talking about dbd mobile? I'm talking about a pass-over, as in a overhaul/rework.
oh when I read add on pass, I was thinking of things like those stupid battle passes when you pay money to get better stuff that others don't have. and by free to play economy I mean the auric cells. spend more real money to get a pack that let's you get outfits and use the premium archives track. rather then just set a price for things they're locked behind those cells.
