Randomness w/ Offerings
This is just an observation, perhaps this is exactly how the devs intended, but I find offerings frustrating and too full of randomness. Other than picking a toolbox and then bonus blood points to objective, or altruism and a healthpack, the other offerings are just a complete toss up on their usefulness.
Make the fog thicker? Great for some killers/maps, bad for others. Make the fog thinner? Great for some killers/maps, bad for others. With no fore site into who the killer is going to be, or what the map is going to be, or what other players are going to do for their offering, it just feels like a coin toss rather than trying to deliberately effect the player strategy of the game.
If this is exactly how the developers intended offerings to work - fine- but to me it feels like its just a tossed in feature w/o a lot of thought put into it. It'd be great to have offerings show up to ONLY other survivors, regardless of SWF, so we don't get two people lessening the fog and then one guy thickening. It'd be nice if there was a bit more variety and ability to have them gel with our perks more. They could really be used to offer a nice variety.
Offering ideas:
- Increase movement speed by %
- Have one random generator/totem always visible to you
- Shorten running marks duration
- Increase % chance to get off the hook by yourself
Basically, turn them into "light temporary perks". The killers certainly have a variation of this with Mori and such.
Comments
They cant mess with movement speeds or it will completely break the game.
We have perks for both your gen/mark ideas.
Luck offerings increase the chance to kobe, they exist already
Right. So you're strengthening my point in that they are useless and have no effect on on the game other than randomly, and there is no strategy in picking when to take one or not.
And great, we have perks for them, but IMO the offering slot could be come MUCH more interesting if it effectively allowed for a single use and less effective perk of some sort. Or layered on top of some of the lesser useful perks to make them viable.
My point is, I want them to matter and want them to be useful. I don't want it to be, "well, sure i guess i"ll play this offering because I have a dozen of them, no idea if it will matter or not."
