Think about it in order for the MMR to work you need to set a win condition that will be true no matter what. Before the MMR we have the pips but those has a checkbox on how devs want you to play the game and not if you win or not.
In this game what count as a win was always very foggy because devs never gave one and for that reason, every player has the one win condition (an escape,2k...). But with the new MMR, you need a win condition that will be true in every game for both sides ( and no the 2k killer devs have said in the past is not true because that base has the balance they looking for not the win condition)
So we play in a new matchmaking system in which has a set win condition that we ( as players) don't know and will never learn except if the devs come out and tell us what is it.
