How is Clown in red ranks?

I've been having a blast playing clown lately, lots of 3-4ks and just all around fun games for both me and survivors. Thing is I'm only hovering around rank 10-11, and I plan to get him to 1. Does he have a lot of trouble in red ranks? Is it worth putting in the time to learn him or will I be DOA come higher ranks?

    Clown has little pressure, it is generally used for fun. In most games in red ranges you do 2k, 4k is unlikely.
