Campers in dbd
In dbd, a lot of people complained about camping. Both killers and survivors think they speach the truth. In fact, they both have good and bad complains about camping. I will start with the killer complains. Before replying, please consider that playing both sides equally will make your opinion 10 times more valid, since it will allow you to understand both of them. I will nicely ask you to try to put yourself at the place of the killer&survivor if your maining one of them and try to go into their heads to understand them, then come back here and write an answer based on the understanding of both sides' feelings.
Killers complain about receiving salty messages. This is a valid complain because its up to the devs to fix it: yes, camping is cheesy&an effortless strategy, but killers want to kill, not to please the survivors. In addition, these situations, like hook rushing, pretty much forces the killer to camp. Its the devs that need to fix an issue: the killers just do their job of killing people. Also, they are core balance issue which suck for the killer, like: keys, Haddonfield, infinites (if the correct tiles spawn correctly), and 3-4 man swf on coms. These can put pressure on the killer, forcing them to play like that. Maybe fix one of these issues to help killers deal with the lack of camping if it gets nerfed.
Now, the part where survivors are right: being camped sucks and needs to be addressed. It is not a matter of balance: yes, gens can be done while someone is being camped. Assuming the killer camps from the start, he will catch someone after 1 gen if he performs averagely, 3 gens will be done after he is done camping, he will catch someone else and then 2 survivors will escape. But is that fun? You will either be looked at for 2 minutes without being able to do anything (the game is not balanced around not getting caught so forget that argument) or you will just press m1 all game, without the fun part of being chased. If a survivor gets caught at the very end and gets camped and dies, then the killer did not really deserve the kill. He only caught the survivor once: he was probably really underwhelming in terms of skill. There is no deserving to get a kill after a 5 gen chase only to catch a survivor once. And before you say a rescue is possible, consider that basement, 1 shots and not having the right perks destroy it, so yea, its not a very good argument.
In conclusion, camping is not a fun strategy, but its up to the devs to fix it, not to the killers to avoid using it. As mentioned above, try not to type in rage and think about what the other side will feel before writing an answer. Have a nice day!
