My final thought's on the event

Outside of the bugs : i've loved it, having new cosmetics earnable at a reasonable rate/reasonable way of earning for both sides has been great. even without the event being extended by a week, im still sure i would have been able to earn my crowns for all the survivors/killers that i play.

I love how it encourages playing different survivors/killers that you may or may not have leveled. its been a lot of fun facing killers/survivors with varied builds due to underleveled charecters that they want to collect crowns on (i for one recently have been going through all my killers and attempting to prestige them, so a lot of mine were underleveled outside my mains) it encourages diversity whilst also remaining fair.

it also doesn't break the game in any form. you can still play the game and hell even ignore the event if you wished, yet it offers extra bp and cosmetics to those who participate. Killers aren't encouraged to ignore their objective of killing survivors, and survivors are still incentivised to escape and not have other priorities keeping them from doing that (ie the hallowed blight event) the survivor objective to keep their crowns is quite a bit harder however which is my only gripe, however i believe its completely fair in order to keep the game playable.

Being forced to find a singular crown on the map also adds to game delay for killers, taking away from the oh so toted "gen rush" making the game feel almost more natural and fair to play, whilst as killer your also incentivised to waste small amounts of your time searching for the crowns or to drop a chase before one despawns infront of you. its great!

My only hope moving foward is that more events will be like this, adding small cosmetics to the game that can be gotten through normal gameplay, and that more side objectives (Even if they are just small bloodpoint incentivisers) are added to the base game (like totems, for killer or survivor, having pillars that grant bp bonuses and possibly tie into perk effects would not go amiss!)

All in all i personally have been loving the event so far. the bugs did take away from it slightly, (With people not being able to get crowns they rightfully earned, along with the gaetu bug) but i don't think they have taken away from my enjoyment of the event itself so far in the slightest. Really appreciate the event and all its done for dbd. :) <3

(though again, i really do think adding a small side objective, like small pustula flowers/pillars for killer/survivor that add buffs or just straight up give small bonuses to bp would be very healthy for the game. encourages slowing down and enjoying matches, and not bomb rushing either sides objectives.)

  • I didn't mind the simplicity of this event, but i like things that break up the usual flow.

Besides, whichever they do, they'd either make people bored with just doing the usual gameplay, or they'll upset regular players because the others are doing the side objectives.
