Killer Concept: The Banshee

The Banshee is a work in progress concept. Some parts of this Killer may work better as a perk, but I won't focus on perks or add-ons, since this is just a fun idea my friend and I had.

The Banshee is a wandering Killer that seeks out Survivors in pain, knowing that death is soon to come to them. Her strengths excel at ambushing Survivors and quickly chasing them down, but she loses her power in a prolonged chase.

Terror Radius:

  • No heartbeat when invisible
  • 24 Meters when visible
  • At all times during a match, Survivors within a 128 Meter range will always hear indirect harsh sobbing and keening. Between 16 and 8 Meters of the Banshee, the noise will gradually become more directional.
  • Under 8 meters, heartbeats stop and Survivors only hear the sobbing and keening of the Banshee.

Movement Speed:

  • 110% base speed
  • +1% up to 125% for every 2 Will o' Wisp stacks
  • 23% during Shriek
  • 172.5% Lunge

Passive: Ghost Walk

The Banshee glides around the map, harsh sobbing and incoherent keening can be heard, disembodied across the map. Every now and then a Survivor may get a glimpse of the Banshee, but it's hard to tell for sure. It could have just been a trick of the fog.

  • The Banshee moves around transparently(invisible) during the entirety of the game, unless she is revealed via flashlight, Shrieking, or in a chase.
  • Periodically she will pulse from transparent to nearly visible and back to transparent(every 30 seconds, pulse lasts a moment, maybe a second or two).
  • Flashlights will reveal her, but not stun her.
  • She will immediately Shriek upon being revealed, and is immune to flashlight reveals for 60 seconds.
  • The Banshee does not walk, she floats around the map(no vertical movement). She does not make any movement sounds.
  • If Banshee is revealed, Ghost Walk goes on cooldown for 20 seconds, in which she will be completely visible during that duration. If she is in a chase, she will stay visible until either the 20 seconds have passed or she has lost the chase or hooked a Survivor, whichever lasts longer. Basic attacks reveal Banshee.
  • Banshee can force reveal herself without attacking or Shrieking by entering a chase with a Survivor(chase phase activates at 3 Meters from a Survivor within line of sight for more than 1 second).

Active Ability: Shriek

The Banshee Reveals herself completely shrieking at anything nearby. Glowing red eyes pierce all those in sight, a shriek so loud and terrifying it leaves Survivors' ears ringing.

Cast Time: Immediate, (Animation) Duration and effect: 3 seconds continuous, Movement Speed: 23%(can turn around), Range: 20 Meters.

  • Pressing the Active Ability button, the Banshee will create a loud screaming wail that persists for 3 seconds, and reveal all Survivors within a 20 Meter Radius, and any who enter the radius. Shriek is heard throughout the entire map. Shriek acts as an aura area of effect, persisting during the entire 3 second time window(e.g. Survivors can enter on the third second and be affected by it).
  • Any Survivors within line of sight will also give aura sight to the Banshee for 10 seconds. Any Survivors not in line of sight will give pulse aura vision for 3 seconds.
  • Shriek will cause all line of sight Survivors to be deafened. Deafened survivors have 50% reduced hearing, all noises sound muffled, and Survivors passive(breathing) and injured noises are 30% louder.
  • Shriek will reveal the Banshee.
  • Shriek will be activated if the Banshee is forced out of Ghost Walk, at a reduced cooldown

Passive Ability: Will o' the Wisps

The Banshee's favorite snack are Will o' Wisps, and she collects and consumes them during her search for Survivors. But Will o' Wisps are quite tasty, and just one won't do.

  • Will o' Wisps will scatter randomly and (un)evenly among the map, some in small group clusters, some in trails along paths, the Banshee will have true sight on all Will o' Wisps within a 72 Meter range, but they will not obscure vision.
  • Will o' Wisps will respawn after 60 seconds when the Banshee is more than 16 Meters away from where they were. Will o' Wisps are meant to be in healthy abundance unless you stick around a region of the map for far too long.
  • During Ghost Walk, the Banshee will collect Will o' Wisps(passively) by gliding 2 Meters near them. For every 2 Will o' Wisps obtained, Banshee's base movement speed increases by 1%, up to a maximum cap of 15% extra base movement speed(125% total base movement speed). The Banshee cannot collect Will o' Wisps when she is revealed. Up to a maximum of 40 Will o' Wisps may be collected. Every 10 seconds a Will o' Wisp is not being collected, 5 Will o' Wisp stacks are removed. Will o' Wisp stacks will be marked near the Killer's Ability UI/HUD.
  • Visible Will o' Wisps on the field will pulse once brightly but with no sound indicator when a Survivor passes within 1 Meter of that Will o' Wisp.
  • During Ghost Walk, any injured Survivors will leave a trail of Will o' Wisps behind. An injured Survivor will not leave Will o' Wisps behind. When a Survivor is hooked, several Will o' Wisps in an area 32 Meters or more away spawn.

That's about all I have for this idea. Any thoughts? Input? Perk ideas or add-ons to help move this along? I thought it would be nice to have a stealth Killer that is all about the early chase game. It's a little rough on people like me who suck in a chase but I thought it'd be a fun idea.
