You cheated and admitted to cheating, you should be banned

Would it not have been smarter to ask if doing such would be a bannable offense before doing said offense? This is one of those times it is better to ask for permission than forgiveness as there will be no forgiveness given.
There's a post in FAQ and Rules that shows what you can get banned for. And for doing something with achievements anything can get you banned
