FEATURES FOR COMPETITIVE

The competitive scene on Dead by Daylight is something often mocked by casual players as they see the game as just that, casual. However, a whole community and myself believe that this game has potential to be competitive, it would take a lot, but it is certainly possible. I know for a fact that at the highest level, this game, espeically within a team including both killer and survivors, has a high skill cap that takes thousands of hours and a great amount of knowledge/experience to even come close, not to mention at least 4-5 of these players in the same team.

To start, some features that the game could use as of now would be but is not limtied to:

  • Adding a feature such as a "work shop", where players can make there own custom layouts of original maps by choosing what maze tile spawns at each location, how it is rotated etc. For example, choosing where the 2 Harvesters and 1 Cow tree spawn on Rotten Fields. When finished tournament hosts can save it, copy the map code and send this to all particpants in advance before events for practice. This ways teams can play on the same exact map layout, which is the most balanced.
  • Make a ranked and casual mode, with the ranked mode having a solid MMR system or some kind of competitive rank system that rates players on good/great skillcheck ratios (skillcheck RNG may need to be taken out), chase length, finessing/stealthing killers, and escaping with the less you have been hooked being higher ranked, etc.
  • Fixing up custom game so no spectate bugs exist, a choice for p2p or servers, spectate mode that is a lot like CS:GO or Rocket League where you can press a number key and it will spectate that specific player, spectator can see all player's auras through walls as with CS:GO and players name's are above their aura always for spectator.

The competitive scene on DbD is not large by any means, but it is very passionate, and with the Devs help and attention, it could be bigger. More players who play the game regularly who aren't in the comp scene could have access to it. If you have anything to add to what I said, please comment!
