A simple solution for gen speeds/fast games
After playing DbD for a long time, going from mainly survivor to killer, and then to about equal, I've noticed something disturbing.
The higher in rank you go, the faster the games go. My games went from (when I first started playing) averaging about 10-15 minutes in tan-green ranks to only averaging about 4-8 minutes in purple-red ranks. And I realized what the problem was after observing and thinking about it for a while.... there are too many generators per map with 3-4 sides open.
Take the Coldwind maps, for example. There are so many generators with at least 3 sides open, and more often than not 4, that it's no wonder that those maps are generally more favorable toward survivors, and games are usually very short when those maps are chosen. A map that I tend to have longer than average games on, and has less generators with 3-4 sides, however.... is Lery's. Believe it or not, my games usually last anywhere from 12-17 minutes on that map, with varied results, and it is quite refreshing. No matter what killer I go against on Lery's, be it Spirit or Myers or Billy, or what killer I play on that map, games finally achieve a decent length in which all players get a good amount of points, no matter if the killer gets a 0k or a 4k.
I think a great solution would be for the average generator to only have 2 sides, and maybe change the amount of sides based on the placement of the generator, with 4 sided generators being reserved for dangerous places like Killer's Shack, and 1 sided generators being in safer areas. A map that does this well is Hawkins, where there's the Isolation Room with a one sided generator, however it's in a hard to reach area and survivors have a couple escape routes + time to leave before the killer catches them. The glowy pulsating room generator can also spawn with one side open, in an area that's safer for survivor to escape and takes longer for killer to reach, or a four-sided generator on top of the glass that is easier for killer to reach. I feel like this is a good balance. (Which is why I don't understand why the Mother's Dwelling balcony generator has three sides open--it's not easy for the killer to reach and the survivors have plenty of time to slide down the rockslides and escape)
I feel like a change like this wouldn't harm solo survivors in any way, since it wouldn't directly modify gen speeds, but rather the amount of survivors allowed on a generator at a time, thus slowing down generators enough to give 110% speed or M1-oriented killers like Trapper enough time to patrol properly. What do you all think about this idea, and from what perspective do you speak (killer main, survivor main, both)?
Note: All of the examples that I've given are from my experience as Killer and Survivor in all ranks and also from watching several different youtubers play the game on both sides.

Honestly this wont change a thing as because it takes 80 seconds to do a gen you will just see more gens pop if a survivor goes from pallet to pallet dropping them a loop early as even then between the distance they gain from the first hit and the time they would stall you could still see 3 gens pop (Which would be more common if people where forced on different gens) before you down and hook them. Honestly i would just give killers a faster recovery time after a hit and shorten the time a survivor has the speed boost for as it would still give survives the same options when it comes to looping and wouldn't change the game drastically for them like deleting pallets would but it would cut down the killers downtime and force survivors to plan a route even when the get hit. Good killers would take advantage of this and be able to, and i cant believe i'm saying this, apply more pressure to survives by chaining from chase to chase and forcing survivors off gens or to remain injured. (STBFL would need a rework though)
The big issue with my idea that i can see is it doesn't account for the killers being unable to get the first hit and killers with map pressure would be stupidly strong but luckily the killers with map pressure either get a separate stun like nurse does for blinking or like oni and hillbilly are not using basic M1s to down mostly if they are utilized fully, Oni with his demon strike and dash and billy with his chainsaw. so even if they had to have nerfs they problem wouldn't have to be major.
but honestly my idea is one of many you could ask 100 people the question and get 100 answers.
