Dead Hard on PC

Hi, I can never use Dead Hard in a game even when I have the perk leveled 3 times. I use an controller to play one PC.

when I press active ability on my controller, nothing happens. From the beginning of the trial till the end of the trial is dead hard useless for me because it never activates or gives a sign to activate it.

    Similarly, on PS4 it will say Dead Hard on to indicate that it activated, give me exhaustion , but killer will still hit me down. Then when im down exhaustion goes away instantly. I will send in video but it has been causing a lot of deaths.
