Serious question: Are killer and survivor ranks linked together by the matchmaker

I’m a rank 5 survivor, rank 13 killer. I routinely face toxic af purple and red ranks as a yellow killer. Does the matchmaker tie your ranks together?


Btw, I’m really sick and tired of facing sore winner jerks!!

    Not to my knowledge. As far as matchmaking is concerned, your killer rank and survivor rank are totally unrelated. However, there is a bug in the matchmaking system where the algorithm sometimes receives incorrect rank information from the killer (for instance, it may mistake a rank 15 killer for a rank 6 killer) and match them with survivors on that basis of the 'false' rank, creating games which are wildly mismatched. So that could be what you're experiencing.
