My main problem with the ranking system
I believe we've all had that time where we think we should've got that gold emblem on for us to get a silver and to go down a rank.
Additionally, many of us have been at a point where we are surprised to have gotten an iridescent in a certain category that we thought we had gotten a silver or gold.
Despite these, the ranking system is usually accurate. If you play poor, you'll lose a pip, if you play average you'll safety pip, if you play good you'll pip and if you play amazingly you'll double pip.
However, what happens if you play too good?
Now this only effects killers in red ranks, so anyone who doesn't experience this may be considered lucky.
The best way to explain this situation, very rarely you'll have an amazing match against survivors and win them in three minutes. You'll have everything go right for you, however, you still won't pip.
The problem lies with two different things.
The first problem is that a red rank killer to gain a single pip needs to gain 13 points. This is equivalent to 3 iridescent emblems and a single bronze.
This leads to the second problem, the chaser emblem. If you have a great game and you down everyone in three minutes, you'll usually get a bronze emblem.
At first this doesn't sound bad, as I mentioned that you should may have been able to get 3 iridescent emblems from your overwhelming performance. However the devout emblem holds you back instantly. To get an iridescent in this quality you need to get at least 9 hooks.
Suddenly your amazing performance that didn't gain you alot of bloodpoints seems even more disappointing as you end my only safety pipping.
Due to these issues, I've decided to come up with a solution. The chaser emblem will now be based on winning chases quickly, rather than landing hits.
Entering a chase grants you 100 points. For every second you spend in a chase, you lose a point. Losing a chase without injuring a survivor causes you to lose 100 points. Losing a chase while injuring the survivor causes you to lose 50 points. Finding the same survivor within 15 seconds restores all points.
150 points: Bronze
250 points: Silver
350 points: Gold
450 points: Iridescent
Although I don't know how many problems this would fix or cause, nor should this be the main focus of the development team at the moment, I feel like this would make it so if you had an amazing game, you should rank up.
