Rank Idea.
This is probably a useless thread since we're going to the MMR method of matchmaking very soon, but I had a thought about the ranking system for survivors in a different thread and I want to see what yall think.
Every survivor is guaranteed a black pip, but there are only two rank up pips available for all four survivors. So the two best survivors move up in rank, while the other two survivors stay where they are. So if you choose to only do gens and escape, but one of your teammates does a gen, gets a save, runs the killer, and escapes, then he gets the pip.
Sooner or later, the best survivors are going to be sitting in purple, so you would REALLY have to distinguish yourself to get the pip and move up to red ranks. This would ensure that the best of the best would be in red ranks, keeping them stocked, while also making sure that the potatoes don't make it to red ranks, thus keeping purple, green, and yellow ranks stocked. This would also encourage the survivors to engage in activities other than genrushing, because you're not going to rank up unless you cleanse more totems, save more people, take more protection hits, etc.
If you get a team of blendettes hiding in the corner, waiting for hatch, then they aren't going to deny your pip by being useless. Simply by being better than them, you're guaranteed to move up. If a killer facecamps you, you're not going to depip, but the killer is going to depip, so it denies him the satisfaction of deranking you.
To me, this system will make sure that the potatoes stay where they belong, and only the best survivors wind up in red ranks. What do you think?
