Matchmaking based on Perks and Addons
Hello people of the fog! this is my first post as I am not very active in many communities but I love this game with almost 700 hours (most of it on survivor) and only want it to grow and succeed. ( for the rest of this post please keep in mind that I am not a game developer and have no idea how matchmaking works or if this idea is even plausible in the first place)
So you know when you go against a billy with instasaw, infinite tier 3 Myers or 4 man swf with max battery purple flashlights or whatever insanely strong perks and add-ons this game has to offer you just go "Ugh now I have to deal with [insert annoying thing here] and I'm only playing with weak perks and no add-ons! This sucks!" I would like to propose a change that IMO would help this game significantly.
Matchmaking based on perks add-ons AND rank with perks and add-ons taking priority over rank. Here are some examples(these examples are from a survivor perspective but the same can be applied for killer):
So, you're in the lobby and decide to play survivor, so you slap on your purple flashlight, battery add-ons and your perks, adrenaline,DS,BT and dead hard, you get into a lobby with a killer and 3 other survivors with flashlights (except this time whilst in the lobby you cant change perks/add-ons) you start the trial only to be met with a nurse with an ebony mori great add-ons and strong perks, but this time you and your 3 teammates are prepared with 4 purple flashlights and strong survivor perks.
Now in a completely different match you decide to equip no items and much weaker perks say babysitter, autodidact, flip flop and boil over. You start the trial and are faced with a clown with no add-ons and weaker killer perks. You probably have a much more balanced trial than you being faced off against the nurse with the ebony mori or vice versa the clown against the 4 purple flashlights and 4 decisive strikes.
Do you see what I'm getting at? if not please feel free to ask questions I will do my best to answer them (remember not a game developer, and please keep it civil)
