MMR is smoke and mirrors to put all players in one pool
First, their actual idea won’t work just watch ScottJund or listen to Tofu if you need an explanation of why “skill level,” can’t be figured out by an automated system.
I don’t think they care though, this unknown skill algorithm along with hiding ranks will basically just allow them to throw all players of all ranks into games together and none of us will be able to prove that it was poor matchmaking.
On the bright side you’ll probably get faster games with good ping, on the down side you could have a rank 5 killer against one rank 1 and there rank 20 survivors for example.
