Is the Dead Hardy challenge bugged?

I've done this challenge like 10 times already, but every single time it doesn't register. Is this happening to anyone else? Or am I doing something wrong? I activate dead hard when they pull up their weapon to lunge, and then usually they miss.

I haven't attempted this, but it could be that because it's a lunge, the timing is a little different. My guess is the lunge literally has to touch you to count, where a basic attack would be pretty instant on a dodge. Maybe just try go for a basic attack instead of a lunge, may be easier to time it.

I got mine first attempt. Of course that doesn't mean it couldn't still be bugged.

I've can't even get Dead Hard to block the hit. I press it, hit connects, I'm dying and exhausted...
