Struggling to Pip as Killer

Hello! I started playing this game when it first came out, but I moved away from it as levelling up characters was a struggle and required more time than I was willing to put in. I also got tired of sabotage meta where the only hooks were basement hooks.

Anyways, I came back to the game a few months ago and get in matches here and there. I've recently gotten to around rank 10 where I'm facing a lot of each rank of survivor now (rip matchmaking). I play mostly trapper and usually let 1 or 2 gens pop while I set up for a 3 or 4 gen. Oftentimes, I will get 1 hook and then quickly transition into a 3 or 4k (I often give one of the survivors the hatch) because I pushed people into traps until all survivors were hooked or slugged at the same time.

This seems like really good, non-toxic play (I don't camp the hook, I run BBQ and protect my 3 or 4 gen above everything else nor do I tunnel), but I'm struggling to even pip. Oftentimes, I get the black pip where I don't lose rank, but that just feels lame considering I "won" the match if you consider killing them all in a non-toxic way (camping and tunneling lose you emblem points) winning.

So, what am I doing wrong here? Why am I not pipping for what feels like playing exactly as the trapper wants to?

Tldr: I'm not pipping despite killing all survivors without exit gates even opening and am not just face camping to lose emblems. What am I doing wrong?

Also, I don't want this to turn into a survivor vs killer forum. This isn't about how one side is easier or is the power role; this is about the pip system.
