Here's how effective new Ruin is.
This is information available from the wiki, but even though this should be easy to figure out it seems as if not enough people know the important numbers. So you thought new Ruin was gonna be useful? You thought this was gonna be the most epic 3 gen perk known to killer kind? Well..... Hell. No.
Without perks or items repair speed is: 80 seconds for 1 person, 44 seconds for 2, 33 for 3, and 28 for 4.
With base regression speed and a 100% gen it would take a whopping 320 seconds (5 minutes and 20 seconds) to regress back down to 0%. With new Ruin (2 times regression speed) that halves to 160 seconds, so 2 and 40 seconds.
So lets say you managed to get a survivor off a gen right as they got it to 50%, which only takes 40 seconds btw. It'd take 80 seconds for that Gen to regress down back to 0.
You really think that gen is going to remain untouched for 80 seconds? Maybe during the early game when there's still a decent amount of them still up. Late game though? I'd love to see a match where you could leave a generator alone for more than 20-30 seconds before someone was already back on it.
And please remember 3 things on top of the stupidly slow regression speed.
The entire time the match is going on Ruin is doing nothing to slow down gen repairs as it has no effect on active repairing.
It still counts as normal regression so it blocks all other forms of regression perks that'll actually be useful.
And it's still a hex so with average luck it probably won't last more than 2 minutes before getting cleansed.
Do what you want with this info. I just wanted Survivors to know there are no unbeatable 3 gens around the corner and Killers to know that their perceived mileage they're getting with Ruin is far larger than what they'll actually get out of the perk.
