Side effect of ruin; The pop effect
So hot take, new ruin sucks. A lot of toxic survivor mains would argue with that.....but doesn't that kind of prove the point lol. A see a lot of survivor mains talking about how great it is not realizing that no one is going to use it, you really need to pair it with another perk and its still a hex so its huge risk for a pretty lame reward unless you have a build around it. Nah, people are going to go to the next best thing, and I think they'll land on pop
The thing about pop is unlike old ruin it cant be destroy and isn't dependent on RNG. Its also a lot stronger than Old ruin because the only real strength of ruin was that bad survivors just wouldn't do the gens. New ruin will actually have a similar strength of bad survivors running off from the gen but in both of those situations the strength is how BAD the other side is
Pop is dependent on how GOOD you are. Is it going to stop 4 man SWF from getting gens done at the speed of sound? No, but neither did ruin. In those games you just go ######### yourself, now youll just be able to go ######### yourself a little faster. But in "Normal" games, games that aren't all SWF running meta perks but not complete potatoes, Pop will work better than ruin if you can stay on top of your #########. And if youre going to play killer outside of brown ranks, you have to be on your #########
So the pop effect; killers are going to have to adapt. Youre going to have to keep getting better but when you do youll be playing better than you were with ruin...probably. Just think about how many bad leatherfaces you've seen compared to a bad Billy. The more the odds are against you the better youll have to be.
And to that same point, survivor is incredibly easy to win but doesn't it seem like most survivors you run into suck? That's BECAUSE its so easy. And removing ruin makes makes skill checks completely brain dead. Gens WILL be done faster but I think its going to make a lot of people dumber and cockier.
Should the game be balanced like this? No probably not but right now your only other options for a game anything like this are the dead FF13 or the PC exclusive Last year, both which may very well be better games but lack the lovable devs and amazing cross overs. Now if last year can keep up its pace and make it to console then maybe, just maybe well get a little breath pf fresh air, hell maybe even an Overwatch 2 type update. But until then its this or nothing, and a lot of you swear you gonna quit....but how much money yall already invested in this game lol
