Issues with the Hex: Ruin changes
For anyone unaware which id be surprised Hex:Ruin will now always regress gens by 200% as long as its not cleansed, it will no longer affect skill checks.
Now there are a few things wrong with this and the first and MOST obvious problem is that totems are too easy to find. I have had more games where ruin is destroyed because a survivor came across it at the beginning of a match than any other outcome with this perk, and as a result i just stopped using it on killers I could do well with. the perk is however almost necessary to use when playing a non viable killer because you just simply cant put enough pressure onto the survivors.
The next issue is that this perk no longer interferes with gen rushers meaning they can hop onto gens throughout the match with nothing to hinder them. A simple regression wont work when you can't stop 4 different people from doing gens and later in the game which in reality will be about 3-5 minutes the totem will get destroyed when theres only 1 or 2 gens left.
The last issue i can see is actually related to the previous one but is more involved with tool boxs, tool boxs speed up gen repair progress but as a result makes skill checks more common which is good if you can hit either good or great skill checks but bad if you can't, so really its just good. Ruin made using tool boxs worse since you would be getting more ruin skill checks but with this change tool boxs will be able to repair gens without any downsides right in the beginning of a match
Hex:Ruin is good because it allows you to focus on the survivors in the early game rather than protect gens which allows you to put on more pressure later in the game. This change will only affect those who get off gens so all you have to do is just not do that on gens with over 50% progress unless you start getting chased and even then the other 1-3 surivivors on gens wont be affected. O and if people start doing this than I guess solos will be screwed over more since people wont get off gens
Like i said i only use it on killers that im not good with or if there not viable in terms of putting pressure on the survivors but even so this change is still ridiculous since it will make playing non viable killers that much harder and no longer hinder survivors who are trying to quickly do the objectives.
