thoughts on rage quitting
so im really getting fed up with absolute VILE survivors attacking me and reporting me for rage quitting when I DC when i have to leave. I have things to do and sometimes i genuinely have to leave the game and DC, i don't have time finish the game and before i close the game i see them say stupid things like "LMFAOOOOO BABY KILLER NO SKILL REPORTED" and ive probably been reported by like 3 entire lobbies of survivors because of needing to leave.
today i had to leave because i was lagging so bad i couldn't even pick up the survivor i had just downed and i was going to crash anyway, yet the entire lobby accused me of "raging". i asked if every disconnect automatically qualifies as a rage quit to them and they said no, yet continued to barrage me for "rage quitting because i suck".
like i can't be the only one who thinks this survivor mentality is BEYOND STUPID right? what do you even do in that instance? if enough people report me when i crash or choose to leave for legitimate reasons (work, lagging, etc), am i gonna be punished for that? is there going to be any kind of punishment for survivors who act like this cus genuinely there should be. idk, what do you think qualifies as a rage quit? do you think anyone who DCs for ANY reason should be reported? what do you think could be done about instances like these cus theyre really annoying, what could the community do to be better bout this?

Reports do nothing as right now it's an automatic process so will be ignored.
To answer the question if you leave the game when the punishments arrive for work or lag due to tour connection or hardware etc then yes you will be punished by a timeout.
The game does have to take into account bugs that are caused by the game itself which should take into account certain lag of course like a server error.
So anytime you have to leave a game for personal reasons will be subject to a timeout and why the first two are low. To be fair if you know you have to go to work or are on call etc you really shouldn't load up the game if you have to leave at a moment's notice.
Im afraid that you will need to find another game to play. We have aggressive community and they are hungry for punishments.
While I agree with twistedmonkey that the topic starter shouldnt play when he/she may need to leave, I disagree that this game need harsh punishments. Its just a game. It has only 1 game mode. Both casual and competitive players are mixed together.
