Does NOED works while Oni is in Blood Fury?

If he hits you(not charged, just an single click) while in Blood Fury, does it downs the survivor instantly? I got hit by an basic attack (not charged) while Oni was in Blood Fury and I didnt get instantly down, but received the NOED notification on my HUD.
