A radical change to Filthy and Nasty Blade add-on - Legion

Assuming Legion rework is still not on the horizon, I came up with this idea regarding those two add-ons.

Right now Nasty Blade slightly increases mending time, while Filthy Blade moderately increases it.

I propose to throw out the window the increase in mending time altogether, and change it with the following:

for every consecutive hit in Feral Frenzy, slightly/moderately reduce the Deep Wound timer of survivors already affected by Deep Wound.

Let's assume that slightly means 3 seconds and moderately is 5 seconds, here's a scenario where all survivors are hit in a single feral frenzy and nobody mends (meaning: everyone is still affected by Deep Wound), using Nasty Blade (3 seconds reduction):

  • Survivor 1 (S1) hit, nothing happens.
  • Survivor 2 (S2) hit, S1 timer reduced by a total of 3 seconds
  • Survivor 3 (S3) hit, S1 timer reduced by a total of 6, S2 reduced by 3
  • Survivor 4 (S4) hit, S1 timer reduced by a total of 9, S2 reduced by 6, S3 reduced by 3
  • Any survivor hit a second time, S1 timer reduced by a total of 12, S2 by 9, S3 by 6, S4 by 3

The reduction of the timer is similar to the Frank's Mix Tape, meaning that once the survivor mends one time, the timer will go back to its default value once the survivor is hit again.

So, what does this change accomplish?

  1. By reducing the DW timer instead of increasing the mending time the change promotes an active and fast gameplay, instead of a slow down build.
  2. Players able to quickly chain hits will be rewarded with survivors that need to mend if they don't want to be downed.
  3. The survivor that runs the biggest risk to have its timer reach 0 is usually the first survivor hit, meaning the furthest away and the one that had more time to mend. In other words, even if Legion succeed to get this survivor timer to 0, they'll probably be far away. It's not a free down, it's more like a person trapped in a bear trap.

This is not a solution for the Legion problem, but could be a nice change for its current form, what do you guys think?

  • Anything to reduce the dw timer unfortunately has 0 bite in it's current state..frankly put..deep wound is an obsolete mess that is either too strong or useless..leaning on useless more and more
