Do you know HybridPanda? He did an experiment where he played two rounds of DBD: one round where he camped and one where he didn't. Although he didn't kill as many people when he didn't camp, he still got twice as many points that he got in the round where he did camp.
I'm both a survivor and killer player, and I think that camping makes the game boring and it isn't rewarding. It's the same thing for survivors. It's boring, and then they're stuck on a hook with a Trapper breathing his garlic breath on them. You can turn a game around, even if there are two generators already done. A lot of the time for me, anyway, I end up getting a 4k near the end of the game, because that's usually when a lot of survivors slip up, because they get relaxed. If you play with a build like Remember Me and Blood Warden, the game is prolonged even further. You don't need to camp to secure the points that you need.
Actually, I've even played games where I only killed one survivor and I got twenty thousand points for chasing and hooking the others. They go unhooked, of course, but I stayed in the game, destroyed pallets, damaged generators and hooked survivors. -
I would say that a toxic survivor is someone who:
- T-bags
- Flashlight spams
- Disconnects (unless they are stuck or if the killer is using game hacks, I think that anyone that disconnects because they're angry ruins the game for every other survivor. ESPECIALLY if they were T-bagging the killer earlier)
- Sends toxic messages to other survivors or the killer, placing the blame on them for their death and saying things like "git gud" "ez trash" you know, things like that.
If you're playing effectively, then I don't see it as toxic. As a killer and survivor player, I'm completely fine with flashlight saves and pallet looping, but that may just be me. I always make sure to give everyone a hearty GG though. But if anyone calls you toxic for juking or pallet looping, they're just pissed off, don't pay too much mind to it

I think that Jake's voice is pretty damn annoying. Especially when he's struggling out of the killer's grasp

I play both killer and survivor, so I'm going to try and go into this totally unbiased. The question is if we are talking about hook patrolling or facecamping. I am totally okay as a survivor if a killer is hook patrolling (meaning staying close to the hook, but not directly on top of it), however, if they are directly face camping, it's just not fun for anyone. I'm a rank 8 killer, and I do patrol hooks once in a while (I run BBQ and Chili) if I see that the survivors are close. I do get backlash for it, but If they realize that I'm close to the hook, they shouldn't stay in the area for too long. Facecamping is an issue. It leads the killer to an easy lose if the survivors recognize the fact that he/she is facecamping. So then, they gen rush and the killer loses with a single kill. Then, the survivor (under the circumstances that it was an early hook) loses a pip, or a good item. Although some may say that the survivor needs to, quote on quote, "git gud", I do believe that if you are playing in higher ranks, and you are being a respectful player, you do not deserve to be face camped. There are many killers that are high ranked that had add ons that reduce their stun time, and this can lead to them hitting you, recovering, then blood-lusting into you- BAM, you're down. A rank one survivor can play against a rank one killer and still be downed and hooked (and even face camped sometimes!). And trust me, as a rank 7 survivor, I've gone into games where I'm with a rank 3 survivor and rank 4 killer, where the rank 3 gets downed and then face camped. It sucks, really. I am totally open to discussion about this, since I know there's a big debate about it all.But I do agree that cocky players who tea-bag and mock the killer should be facecamped. I don't think it's fair to be a jerk to a killer who hasn't unleashed their full potential. Especially if it's a newbie killer. So please, don't be a survivor that perpetuates the stereotype that this community is toxic.
Also, please don't cuss out the killer post-game. It ruins the game for everyone. Survivors get a bad rep, and killers stop playing killers because of toxic survivors. Keep in mind that we need killers in order to play the game

I do not intend to come off as rude in my message, so please forgive me if I sounded rude or off-putting.
