  • Some of these players be tilted off the face of the earth for god knows what reason, best to hit 'em with the good ol' gg and move on;

    maybe some of these players are rage baiting and trying to pretend they're upset about something only to rile up others, get some kind of reaction/need attention?

  • I've been noticing a lot of survivor teammates who play in anonymous streamer mode end up kinda being like the biggest trolls ever, I never really thought reporting would work, I kinda just shrug it off but kinda confused as why these people feel the need to go against the grain and try to ruin someone's day.

    DBD community can be quite a beautiful thing, no?

  • I think sometimes people forget that they may just gotten unlucky and got in chases with the killer and as a result

    may be sacrificed or may have not been sacrificed

    if they were playing a Prestige 0 Dwight or their preferred survivor that is Prestige 100

    Though, personally I do think prestige levels, and some other things (like, playing in Anonymous Streamer mode or maybe having TTV in your name) play some kind of role and might lead to some killer plays going the extra mile to put you in the grave faster, maybe not, it's hard to really tell sometimes, judging by how the community can be sometimes,

    by the way, some time prior to the Halloween event we just had, I actually had encountered this weird bug where I wouldn't see anyone's Prestige level until the post game, but I'm on Linux, but they managed to fix it like with a bugfix patch approximately some time during the Haunted by Daylight event

  • probably would be more tame than gathering a random bunch of League or Counter-Strike players, 'cause y'know how they are, I imagine the "super mega toxic DBD players" that we always hear about, probably also happen to be players who play League/CS

    imo, I feel like a lot of people play a character or a role when it comes to online gaming/streaming and they might be a completely different person altogether irl - like if they're out here swearing and throwing down death threats in a post game lobby chat, kinda in the heat of the moment thing, I assume they're not like going to bed and waking up the next day thinking about what went down in their DBD match that got them tilted off the face of the earth and plotting to ruin the life of whomever bested them in a vidya game!

    anyways, good luck with your wish, hope it comes true, don't let your dreams be dreams <3

  • the best way to prep for solo queue is to set different win conditions because I mean, as much as I love getting a 4 man escape in solo queue where the whole team kinda just has pretty decent game sense, people doing gens, rotating hook stages and taking turns looping the killer/efficiently buying time for the survivors doing gens to do what they do -

    as much as I always wanna get that cheeky 4man escape but if that doesn't happen, it's alright maybe I can:

    • take the cake for wasting the killer's time and being an absolute PITA to catch
    • get some nutty flashlight blinds/pallet saves/flashbangs/sabo plays
    • do like ~5 gens while 1 guy is getting chased and like our other teammates are MIA because they're super immersed and crouching in bushes or some random corner of the map far, far away from the killer
    • get stuns with silly perks like Blast Mine/Head On like X amount of times on the same gen/locker

    I think you get the idea, sorta like a little mini-game/side quest thing so that you don't dwell on the whole "oh damn I didn't escape/died :("

    in my opinion, it's kind of rude to place expectations on people that you've never met or played with before and assume they take the game as seriously as you do, considering the fact that there's no ranked/comp mode or leaderboard to really have to compete; but on the other hand it's like a team based game (for survivors, at least) but idk, it's hard to tell sometimes, I'm not a fan of people acting like trolls just cause they enjoy ruining someone's day - there's a lot of people who probably play DBD as a side game and just log in to play 1 match a week/month/year and that's it, soz your mileage might vary and you kinda got unlucky with matchmaking giving you teammates that don't know how to effectively play DBD

    at the end of the day, it's just a game after all, hit em with the "gg" and go next <3

  • I kinda missed the fallout and outrage that ensued when Skull Merch chapter dropped, as I took a break away from DBD some time after the Knight chapter came out, tho I kinda came back after some time later and peeped Steam discussion forums/DBD subreddit and was confused about all the hate the skull merchant got despite it being a couple months or so since after SM was released and was like "am I missing some kind of inside joke?"

    Then I queued for a couple matches and I'm kind of a solo queuer but like I would never get any survivors that would actually try to play the game normally (either immediate DC upon finding out it's Skull Merch or like pulling themselves on the hook after being downed) what a joy, haha

  • This is something that crosses my mind as well, if the killer goes out of their way to do this on purpose or they just happened to find you/your teammate with a cracked prestige level by chance?

    I kind of miss the old prestige system where P3 was the highest and it didn't really take like hella hours to get there, most of the reason why people never prestiged back then was 'cause it would wipe out your entire inventory so say goodbye to like limited time/seasonal offerings and items/addons - so now that we have the new prestige system, going up to P100, I feel like killers might be more inclined to play more sweaty and/or try to remove a survivor from the match ASAP if they see high prestige survivors in the lobby? maybe not

    though iirc from the official dbd subreddit, like right after the prestige system was reworked and people were saying "how is X person already like prestige 50-70?" and some others chimed in and said that "time spent doesn't = skill" which seemed like majority of the people agreed;

    I kinda hate to be this person but like, in my solo queue lobbies, sometimes I'll lurk on someone's profile and they were like a survivor teammate who had 3-4k hours in DBD and they like go down in 5 seconds and immediately DC/pull themselves on the hook, lmao though everyone is different, unique in their own way and perhaps that guy has like 2,999 hours playing Nurse and he just was playing survivor for a match to do a challenge/ritual and switch back to killer role (but it wasn't just one guy or two or three, but... you get the idea)
