Right so even though killers at red ranks have a 65%+ kill/win rate, they are not the power role?
Got to love the blatant disregard of "try to be unbiased" lmao. Entitled player detected 🤣

Yeaahhh the grind really is just insane. I'm actually surprised that they didn't do something about it earlier because of how it affects newer players that wanna try out the game the most. I have 2k hours in the game and just got done getting all my perks on the killers (didn't even prestige them) and the survivors I like.
I took the short cut as well and bought most of these perks with their dlc. I didn't wait for the shrine...
Imagine being told as a new player that you would need to spend over 2k hours to get everything you want lmao.
Omg. I'm 700 hours in and prestiged most of my killers at least once (Cone Daddy is at P3) and I've unlocked all the teachables on my killers and survivors. Just started to P1 some of the survivors.
It's a grind for sure but what are y'all doing if you can't get there in 2k hours lol. I'm using the most of the old rift challenges to get more BPs once I've exhausted the "active" ones. Although I've only started playing recently, I play a lot in that small time frame.
I can't wait for the double BP days. Those are when I'm going to make the most BPs with BBQ, survivor puddings, cakes escape cakes and party streamers.
I'll also mention i have all the killers and survivors if that wasn't already obvious.

Going for 12 legit, separate chases without tunneling/camping/slugging is not the most effective way to win the game and thus doesn't give you the feel of control since all 4 survivors will be alive at 1 remaining gen even if you get every single down quickly.
That's why killers camp, tunnel, slug, 3-gen etc.
Being in control of something reduces stress. Less stress = more fun.
Therefore tunneling someone out of the match early = getting control over the match quickly = less stress while playing the match = more fun.
It's not fun for survivors but I understand why killers be like that.
I nearly spit my milk out from laughing at this lol.
"Being in control is fun"... Sounds like someone projecting control issues in real life lmaooooo.
But seriously, if the only fun you're having as a killer is being in control, then I would suggest rethinking what fun is. Let me remind you that 4 other players that you don't know and are actual people that you can't control are playing the game too.
Your post is the mindset that keeps perpetuating the sweat matches that not everyone wants. I can get to red ranks consistently on both survivor and killer without having to sweat with meta builds, camp, tunnel, or slug OFTEN.
Do I slug? Yeah when I down a survivor and I see another with a flashlight skulking around. Do I tunnel? Of course if you keep running into me and no else is in sight (happens more often on indoor maps). Do I camp hooks? Why wouldn't I if your friends are literally looping me at the hook.
But you've 3k posts so what do I know :/

Yeah, that would be really bad for Solo Survivor, I would not like to have to face 2 Killers at once.
I think you're both missing the point of the whole post. They're saying that playing with others in the same role would accelerate the learning process. Which in a video game I would agree with.
Unrelated to the above quote.... I used to think match making was unfair when I was a killer in the beginning. Once I did more video research, forum reading, and custom game practicing, I became a lot better. Now it's easy for me to get into and keep a rank 1.
Not trying to gloat but you have to look further than "match making bad" to be able to learn what you can do in the future. I understand people don't have 8 hours every day like streamers to get better but it will take some time and effort to get better if that's your goal.
I also agree with OPs message on why there is a shortage of killers. After several games of **it talking I'll take a break. It's never good enough for survivor mains win or lose. And I am a red rank survivor too before anyone @s me lol

2 beers??? Those are ROOKIE NUMBERS!

Sorry friendo. I play red rank survivor solo que a lot (and killer but not important) and I have to say I love playing against the twins.
I love being able to dodge Victor, without dead hard, and kicking him in the face lol. It's def a tough match and one that involves a lot of counter slug play. Might be an actual killer to run no mither on. We'll see!

Without a true separation of game modes like rank and public (custom doesn't count) "fair play" is subjective to every person you play in each individual game.
It'll be impossible to please everyone until that happens and even then, I'm sure people will still complain. Someone said earlier "as long as you're not cheating do what you want", and I have to disagree. By that logic we could have swaths of face camping bubbas but that's ok because they're having fun.
It's really weird (apologies for the mini rant), it feels like there is a section of the DbD community trying to figure out how to make the game healthier and one section that wants chaos. I feel like when I play killer I'm just babysitting. When I play survivor (solo que) I feel like I'm banging my head against a wall with my team against the same meta killer perks. But if I play with my friends (even off comms) it's unfair.
Maybe I should take the devs advice and take a perma break from their game lmao. Unreal.
-
What a clown. Wants the best perk and gets upset when someone asks for a build. Best perk is subjective for every person on ANY killer. Good luck
-
Either wait for rank resets or just stop caring about "losing". Once you stop worrying about losing and focus on learning what you're doing wrong and can improve on it'll get better.
That's my experience with trying to learn nurse and hillbilly at rank 2 for the first time lmao

I just bind my mouse wheel to the struggle mechanic. So easy and it flies!

I've been playing the game for about 550 hours as mainly killer but I'm red ranks in both killer and survivor.
I'll definitely say that it takes some time to before you can be comfortable in red rank lobbies. In the beginning? It was impossible to me to be a red rank killer. Now? I can get there without perks or addons on CERTAIN killers (I'm still learning a lot!).
My question to you; how many hours do you have? How often do you play a particular killer? Do you practice without addons and perks?
I played about 10 games today and only had 1 sweat squad and 1 game where people were salty. The rest were fun with various degrees of success (no kills to 4ks).
Hope you have better games :)
-
I play all killers and some survivor (80% killer 20% survivor both in red ranks). Pyramid Head is my favorite killer and best to play as. I don't notice the nerf too much. Hate to say it but this is just another basic complaining post.
Nothing to see here, move along lol.
-
This is just my opinion.... But I like to play a killer until I'm comfortable enough not needing addons or perks to get a brutal killer consistently.
I'd say that if you're having trouble against red rank survivors, it may be for a variety of reasons. Do you understand how to loop? Do you know how to run L and T walls? How long do your chases typically go for? If you are running noed, how many games would you actually get a brutal killer without it?
Would highly recommend YouTube videos from interact. Very informative killer videos.

Again, because bubba can do this thing, so many play him like utter scum, aka camping in every form is a given.
So you might as well throw the game immediately
Like another user said earlier, do safe hooks away from him or get his attention with fast vaults away from him. I typically run Diversion for these issues. If you insist on unhooking in front of him, run BT and DS combo.
If he is face camping hook, do gens and report him at the end. He will lose the game and depip. Hopefully depips enough to a rank you won't see them at again.
Until they come out with a harsher punishment for face camping, that's all you can do.
Lastly, when I do pay Bubba, I rarely find anyone bunch up like that. You must be playing yellow or green ranks for that to happen.

Hello, Rank 1/2 killer here; 525 hours in the game mostly killer like 75/25 killer over survivor. I like to play all killers but my best is Cone Daddy. I don't run undying/ruin combo (nor ruin much at all). Lastly I've been lurking the forums for a while but don't post often 0_0
Ok what I've learned at red ranks is to pressure as many survivors as you can at the same time to waste their time from doing gens. Even against SWF, you have to try and force the survivor you're chasing towards other survivors. That way you can threaten multiple hits and downs.
Someone said earlier not to over commit on a chase and I agree. Otzdarva once said if you don't think you'll get a pallet, hit, or a down out of a chase in 15 seconds or less then move on to a different one. Survivors can be amazing loopers so neutralize that ability by having them sit on a gen or try and taunt you. Loopers waste so much time following you, tbagging, or kliky kliky you for attention.
I hope the generic advice helps :)

Really hate to say this but as s killer main, I look forward to a challenge. I'm rank 8 so not far off from you either. The more you play the better skilled, in theory, the survivors will be.
I've seen a few replies giving you advice on other perks etc but you have to know what you're looking for from the game too. I haven't been playing long (120 hours maybe?) but knowing what you want can help you with pipping up to harder challenges or pipping down for casual experience.
Cheers!

I've been watching other streamers play this game and didn't get into it for a while. I thought being survivor would be great and thought there were too many good killers out there.
Once I started playing, survivor seemed easy with a good team and I didn't find a lot of good killers. Granted, I did die a lot early on, it seemed like if I hid more, I'd survive.
When Pyramid Head came out, I switched to killer and saw the mental challenge! You're not just mentally battling one survivor, but 4! And they each might have a different mentality of what to do. It is really the Ultimate Hunt. Also love when early in a match you get 4 flashlighters tea bagging you and still come out with a 4k!
