I played the last days since his release a lot of games against him in solo q. Probably more than hundred. And yes I kinda got used to him and can handle him better but I still think he needs some nerfs.
I agree with the doors being too close to the Gens. It's a guarantee free hit for him, especially in places where the front side of the door can't be seen from the gen you are doing. I don't even start with the invisible or audio bug which makes it impossible to react.
But my main problem with him is that he invites toxic gameplay like tunneling and camping. More and more springtraps are camping the hooks through their doors. They just wait for someone to unhook and exit the door and start tunneling. Even if they go for the other ones it feels more of a trade than save which teaches people not to unhook someone especially if they are wounded. I got so many games where survivors where too afraid to do something and left people to die.

I agree, he really invites toxic gameplay like camping and tunneling. I've played the last few days 8/10 games against him and more and more springtraps are camping the hooks with that door. They hook someone, go in the door and wait for someone to unhook to exit the door and start tunneling. It's so frustrating and results only in players not go to save someone from hook.
Also the fact that these doors are often placed right next to a gen is horrible too. He comes out invisible and grabs someone from the gen. Sorry but what are you supposed to do against that, especially when audio is bugged and sometimes the doors are facing a different direction to the gen. You can't tell until it's too late. I wonder why they don't deactivate him until he is fixed. Houndmaster was not playable for several days when they found a bug.
All in all he definitely needs a nerf regarding the doors or they do something about anti tunneling and anti camping asap because it's no fun to play right now. :(
