play on xbox but want it on pc for better framerates loading times graphics. would really like to keep progress and paid DLC too across platforms which I know is cross save but I'd like crossplay too. so I can still play with xbox friends after I move to pc.

1. I think a CD on queue for DCing is a good idea. it would forcibly make you cool yourself down after a possible ragequit. I typically find if I'm having a bad time in one role I switch to the other so maybe a role specific cooldown. A -2 pip prevention once a day could be okay too. Yea it would be used to prevent a loss but if people have that they might be less toxic if they're competitive.
2. I'm on xbox so postgame chat is actually mid and post game hatemail from survivors. Only twice have I gotten a gg wp or anything like that I have gotten sorry's from killers for playing with a saccing 3man or getting tunneled. I'm not sure completely shutting out the ability to send messages or know the oppositions gamertag/profile is a good idea.
3. tbagging is BMing and toxic but it's in every game. sometimes it gives the killers a chance sometimes when done correctly cant be taken advantage of by killer. usually it's a good excuse to tunnel someone aside from tunneling being a viable strategy in and of itself.
4. my definition of camping is staying within range of hitting the unhooked or hooked survivor at all times. if I walk 20 meters away and someone unhooks and I turn around to get them that's not camping that's a survivor farming their teammate. with that said killers lose rank points for staying within range of hooked survivor which isnt always avoidable. like I often spot a survivor hiding when I hook and have to patrol a little bit but leave anyway if I cant find them knowing they're about to unhook. camping is hated because it ruins one survivors experience which can happen to anybody in any pvp game. in this game camping a single survivor is a bad strat. I think if you play survivor and know the killer is camping take advantage of it and complete all the gens and suck it up and accept that someone will die. only certain groups with specific items and perks should attempt unhooking. like flashlight borrowed time insta heals adrenaline which applies if u unhook after all gens are done. sometimes camping is a viable strat. like one game I had hex ruin in killer hut with 2 survivors hooked in the basement underneath attempting to cleanse it. at that point it would be a bad strat to just leave it alone. because like u said it is the killers objective to kill. the other time it might be viable is if you run into a super altruistic group where they'll give u hits trying to unhook. this is also where noed can be good.
removing the interrupt feature for unhooking would be bad. it is often easily baited out anyway but if say like many killers they are not camping but instead spot a surv or scratch marks heading towards the hooked. they can get an interrupt in possibly because the unhooker wasnt stealthy enough or tried kamikaziing.
the job of a killer is to kill which essentially ruins the game for whoever he kills. to sum up both roles of this game, the roles are ruin to the game for the opposing side. still possible for both sides to have fun tho.

Survivor main actually
In my 3 weeks of playing I've noticed some trends.
-When I play survivor the killers never sends hatemail no matter what I did to them.
-When I player killer most survivors whether they win lose will send hatemail on xbox and/or send party inv after to group bash over voice chat with swf group.
-You can obviously play survivor and killer but being a main suggests you primarily play one and are adept at it. You can be adept at both and play them equally and that means you dont "main" either because having a "main(s)" means you prioritize 1 or a few not all. At this point the only thing you can say is that you "main" X killer when you play killer. You cant really main a survivor since they're just skins essentially but it still makes sense if you were to say you are a nea main. (also if you main something it doesnt mean you play that side only, that's half the game and that's dumb but I'm sure it happens)
I play both sides because understanding one improves the skills as the other it also depends on if my friends are on and want to play or not.
-For everyone here who is probably assuming "oh yea hes a killer main for sure" you are doing exactly what ur bashing on. which only proves the point. that it becomes clear, if you play the game and visit the forums or subreddit, who primarily plays what based on what they say and what mentality they have. i.e. killers hate all the crutch perks survivors get and survivors hate the crutch perk killers get, survivors hate tunneling and call everything camping amd killers hate "gen rushing" and looping otherwise known as a survivors gameplay.
so sorry if I hurt your feelings but this is the gist of things in my experience on the forum/sub/game. These thoughts are based on you guys from someone who is relatively new. This community is by far the most toxic I've ever experienced beating out csgo, early lol seasons, mw2 many years ago. The community at any given time is 80% playing survivor.
But maybe it's not the survivors who are toxic I just so happen to get hatemail for no actual justifiable reason (which is really only camping everyone you hook as it's a low tier play that harms the killers score for the sake harming that survivors score) from people playing survivor 100% of the time I recieve salty messages. Also, I've only ever gotten friend requests from killers who killed me after some friendly messaging to swf at some point.
This post is only here because more than one person sent a message containing " X because Y main" I would very much like to enjoy both sides equally but I literally have to switch from killer to survivor half the time just to take a break from receiving salty messages or a streak of unfavorable maps.
so for this post im a survivor main but I play both equally I just prefer survivor so that's what I'm saying I'm maining now.
As if what I say I main determines what I actually main. It's actually the mentality, skill, and relatively current play-time that determines it not what you say. otherwise you can say you main something even if you havent touched it. If you could then I'd say I main huntress but I dont own her so I cant...
as much as most of us would like the general toxicity of the community to be reduced it is a product if the game, or everyone that's never won easily at freeze tag flocks to this game along with some that did. So I'll go ahead and say it's the game and I expect people to disagree for the sake of disagreeing. why y'all so toxic lol. I usually tell hatemailers to git gud and stop complaining.
Dont hate the player, hate the game.

I dont know what system you play on but if the killer dcs I still get bp and in my experience as a killer I lose 2 pips for it. which if I have just the worst time and do almost nothing I'll only lose 1 pip. so there is something.
-
so I play killer mainly but I'm also pretty new to the game. been playing for maybe about 3 weeks judging by shrine resets. rank 5 killer, 11 survivor
so heres my 2 cents.
tunneling is good for killers because it allows you to eliminate a survivor the quickest.
only reason I decided to post here now is because I just had a game where i was accused of camping and tunneling.
to me camping is if the killer is if the killer is close enough to get to the hooked survivor and attack in the time it takes to unhook them if a survivor was already there to unhook. otherwise it is patrolling the area. obviously if I see 1 or 2 altruistically heavy survivors while hooking I'm going to patrol like I'm not boosting with you.
tunneling, to me, is more so if you hook 1 person 3 times in a row. this is not what survivors believe is a reportable offense. because I for sure have been reported for this giving me a 1 day suspension on my gamer pic priveleges.
this most recent game I intended to kill a claud with a key 1st so theres less chance of an early escape. post game I'm pretty sure it was a 3man. I find bill and claud 1st but bill gets swiped off a gen unawares so I hook him twice. then I hook claud, my main target, twice. all while a meg is being that survivor with a flashlight. I then hook a lorie. I attempt to hook her again but get DS (which btw is good for countering tunneling same with borrowed time both are high tier popular perks. good killer counter to that is MYC but I'm sure survivors will hate that too. who kncall what it might end up being called in the future if and when survivors start complaining about that too.)
I then continue to chase lorie but the bill runs straight into me while injured. (maybe trying to body block idk.) so I oblige since hes been hooked twice. hook em then dies and sends me a msg about tunnel report. I cannot make this stuff up.
I hook the meg. try to go for her but I find a wild claud instead and remembered she had a key. hook her. more hatemail, same stuff. hook meg and find hatch at that hook. patrol the surrounding building only for the lorie to have a key or found claud's and escape from under my nose and leave the meg who is there and I stand there waiting for her to die. get more hatemail from the flashlight meg.
as an aside, hatemail seems to be prevalent on xbox ranks 20 to 10 then rank 6 and 5 in my experience. Between rank 10 and 6 I thought hatemail disappeared in the higher half of ranks cuz the survivors were better but I guess not because some of them are for sure boosted bonobos.
during this game I never patrolled or camped until the end when I patrolled rather poorly. most of the time I would patrol all unrepaired gens b4 checking if the hooked surv needed some water. I would turn back if I was notified of the unhook, saw someone run in that direction, scratch Mark or just plain saw someone, like the meg, nearby waiting.
i guess tunneling to be more accurate to the survivors definition if you hook them and dont let them get away or chase them after. if I see you get unhooked I'm gonna hit u cuz it's not my fault they unhooked you unsafely and chances are ur injured they are not and I dont have MYC. I'm sorry for deciding to play the game and not letting you boost your way to the red ranks. yea it sucks that you might get depiped and you know what its gonna happen cuz everyone isnt boosting. also if survivors didnt know it's what the game wants. killers lose on points if survivors get away and heal. also it's common game sense to go for squishies, i.e. players with lower health (which is what you are after you've been hooked) to reduce numbers of the enemy team.
if you really dont like tunneling run DS have teammates run borrowed time, insta heals and get good and getting away.

I await the day a message from the devs say NOED is fair and will not be changed.
Because it really is super situational to 4k with. Depends on how the survivors play. If 1 survivor dies then get over it. That will most likely happen with or without NOED in a match with equally skilled survivors and killers. There are ways to counter or avoid it so do that. You aren't supposed to be able to play the exact same every game different maps, killers, addons, offerings, perks and procedurally generated maps are proof of that. But meta is meta and with this game killers meta is a response to survivors meta. looping -> nurse billy huntress. sabotage-> slug. tbag at exit -> NOED

I dont think it's good for the game to have the devs decide which specific perks are better. Which is essentially what they would be doing. Not that there arent perks that are blatantly better than others. But they should strive for balance. The ranking system helps mitigate the possibility of fully kitted players being matched with lower skilled players as higher ranked players will have better loadouts. Obviously there'll be smurfs which cant realistically be defended against without it's own issues and swf pulling high and low tier together.
maybe some of these ideas?
-matchmaking being partially based on perk tier and item/add-on rarities could possibly work.
-unranked matchmaking could work.
-new game mode with random (similar tier perks) could be nice.
-seperate solo queue for both surv and killers. (significantly longer queue times likely)

I think the EGC is fine. Survivors ive seen escape it typically do the same thing very well. which is hiding until they've seen the killer travel far enough away to begin opening the door. Occasionally stopping when they suspect the killer is too close by looking around, TR, or a perk like spine chill.
If the doors are close, which means they're probably on the same wall usually. I've never seen both doors spawn in the same corner touching butts so I dont think that's possible. On the same wall there is usually sight for the killer after some travel. If its GF or MM it is sub optimal for the survivor as they can stalk and the game can spot the survivor for the killer at that point, also no TR.
But the survivors do have an advantage of being table to easily spot the killer as they will most likely take the shortest route. And with enough skill, or mind gaming capabilities can dip in and out of gate openings to where the killer wont spot them even with a straight shot between gates.
If the gates spawn across the map, which is more likely on smaller maps for obvious reasons, then it is a little different. It is also possible for them to spawn at opposite sides on larger maps. The route the killer takes between gates may not be as obvious and there may be cover that both killer and surv can use. If there is cover and/or stealth killer, spine chill would be preferable as it can alert you and boost your opening speed for that butt clenching moment the killer spots you and the gate is almost open.
If the spawns are opposite ends of a large map and you see the killer leave then your golden unless the killer decides to mind game you and pull a u-turn.
If you can't escape by yourself then try getting better at saving your teammates so you can escape together.
TlDR
EGC is like a large scale mind game for both sides and can be won by either side equally but certain killers, perks and maps can shift the tide.

I started playing about 2 or 3 weeks ago on xbox. At rank 11 I switched from wraith to GF and am now currently rank 5. at this point my ability is almost useless, as almost everyone knows I'm coming no matter how stealthy I try to be by using obscure routes, crouching, and hugging cover. sometimes theres a bill I can lean and stalk while hes doing a gen but at that point I may as well try to interrupt him.(Which for some reason doesnt work for me because they stop as I'm pulling them off already and mid animation I slash them instead.)
I can understand basing the vision off of a survivors 3rd person view and giving them the ability to cancel his shroud from behind cover. that's why they're marked.
what I dont understand and realized when playing surv against ghostface is that you dont need to spot him. you just need to be looking in his direction within range. I was behind a tree and he ran into my view. I moved my view so that the tree was completely covering him on my screen so that I wouldn't have my position given away by his mark and it still took away his shroud... ultimately marking my position.
now I know why I'm kicked out of shroud by a survivor even when I attempt to duck behind cover. which is like 50% of why he can crouch aside from being harder to spot while moving around the map.

I can see this happening as boost at 0 hatchets. but it's more of a skill compensation buff, rewarded for missing doesnt seem good.
as for filling the ms per hatchet loss might make sense irl but could make that last hatchet very powerful. in most pvp games ranged characters are slower so that they dont completely destroy melees. similar concept here.
instead of a constant buff I think if it was added it would be best added as an add on.

A monthly reset makes the game less enjoyable for new players but that's also due to being matched with an opponent as much as 10 ranks ahead.
obviously how pipping is calculated is an issue in and of itself too. it shouldn't be possible for everyone to pip or depip in a game, I feel.
I almost feel that there should be a speed bp bonus in some way. if a killer 4ks with only 9000 bp they shouldn't depip or if surv escape with only 9000 bp they shouldn't depip either just bcuz the game didn't last long enough for them to score higher. you shouldn't have to unhook or be have someone get hit to score higher.
but theres also situations where theres 5 gens 2 surv left and they hide not making any attempt at repairing gens. which can be difficult as a killer to end at that point because it is hiding for the sake of hiding. which would be more so on the surv not attempting to play the game.
-
I'll start off with my experience. Been playing for about 2 weeks on xbox. started with wraith and meg. prestiged meg immediately and immediately regretted it, rip perks. rank 11 surv trying to get teachables like self care. played hag to get teachables then moved to GF at rank 14 am now rank 5. Take that as you will, hopefully not in an unreasonable way tho.
Now what I think:
To me a long straight lunge is similar to Billy's chainsaw w/o the ability to delay the activation. Not delaying the activation, seen only with lower skilled players, leaves you easily predictable and avoidable. One of the biggest advantages a lone surv has against a killer is looping with pallets and windows. which comes down to a surv ability to tightly hug walls and turn corners around obstacles with their smaller collision frame compared to killers. This lunge would seriously wound a killers ability to counter loops. As they would need to need to be breathing down your neck to swipe at a surv vaulting or waiting to pallet drop. If a killer wanted to actually attempt a hit on a surv around a corner they would need a wider more choreographed movement to line up the lunge to even dream of hitting a surv at a pallet while looping. Thus giving the surv more time to prevent the killers advance.
It may help with straight shots to a vault or pallet but specifically window vaulting seems inconsistent as to whether the hit lands or collides with the obstacle. For me at least, sometimes I hit after the vault sometimes I hit wall mid-vault.
Yes we could mitigate missing with a perk. But that is less skilled orientated. Right now if killers can time their blows to hit at the right moment it is not needed. With the straight lunge it is less the killers skill and more the surv skill with dodging hits which would take less skill because would only take a 90 degree turn or sidestep to dodge. (how about a sidestep perk for surv or too much like dead hard?)
It shouldn't take a nerf to make a perk viable tbh. it's a perk that for my 1st few games as killer seemed intriguing cuz I kept missing my swipes (didnt know I could lunge at the time, killer tutorial amiright?) but I knew to avoid it because it was a user skill mitigation type perk and those are typically not good in any game.
TLDR; it would be a nerf to killers with respect to the current surv gameplay meta of looping.
