Even worse, my code doesn't actually work this time around.
Edit: Disregard. Reloaded the amazon page and it gave me an entirely different code. I blame Jeff Bezos.

I'm still getting plenty of lopsided games but I also don't feel like MMR can fix that. Sometimes the killer just makes all the right moves and sometimes I just make all the wrong ones. Sometimes I like to play pretty chill with non-conventional builds and sometimes that can work really well in my favor and other times it doesn't. There are games where I've felt like the weak link in my team, especially when I know I made mistakes and I think it's just natural to assume the same of people I play with. I'm not a 2000 hour ultra consistent player who will do everything in my power to win and I don't expect people I play with to be.
I think MMR is far from perfect but I feel like it's doing something. I hope they'll keep refining it and I believe it will improve the game balance long term. It's likely here to stay and I'm ok with that.
-
Certain SWF is fine, i would never want people to be unable to play with their friends. The minute I know or feel I'm playing against SWF I do pretty much need to play a different game. The game should tell you, and when MMR does become always on I think SWF groups should be considered at a higher level than their individual values.
The idea that most SWF aren't good is just something I disagree with. I actually think most SWF are decent, purely elevated by their ability to coordinate everything.
I don't enjoy games when good SWF just kind of actively seek me out to try and make me miserable, even though those are the easiest games to win they aren't fun. At the same time it's just really bad when they aren't trying to mess with you because it means they are crushing objectives. The games where SWF just never fail to capitalize on every little thing just makes the game feel bad.
I don't get support for keys. They are indefensible to me. They just tip the scales to punish killers who are having a decent game where they might have otherwise won. Iridescent mori's were the only thing that gave killers that same kind of power to unfairly tip the scales to a less undeserved win. I am not defending mori's, it was a good call to change them and keys need an overhaul to match. When people defend keys I really feel inclined to believe they don't want the game to be fair.

Haven't DC'd yet but I kind of see why people are doing it.
When I see 5 cakes I try to play fairly chill so everyone just gets a ton of points. Survivor's been mostly chill killers in my experience but not always, Killer however, non-stop brutal matches that are just exhausting and sweaty as can be. The more cakes in a game the worse it seems to be. I think there's a much higher frequency of SWF groups and they are just playing really hard, super coordinated games where I'm just stressed to even get a single kill playing "fair".
It really doesn't help that the tome is ending at the same time as this event. In some cases people have to ultra try hard to complete their challenges in time. That part I get at least.
It's taken a lot out of me the past two days to not just play in ways where I go into a game feeling like I want to be merciless, or doing whatever it takes to counter a good team that's dead set on just crushing me. I just keep getting punished for trying to start out kind of chill. I have to up my game and play ultra aggressively because I'm not given any room to play nice to recover. Then people just turn around and DC on me instead.

Tru3 has used clickbait sounding youtube titles for a long time so there's that. But there's no doubt he made mistakes in that game and is reluctant to admit it. Lately he's way off his game and just seems extra tilted even though his ego is at an all time high. Personally I think he spends way too much time reading his chat looking for people to argue with that he's just distracted.
Tru3's undoubtedly a good player, but he's been having more and more trouble keeping track of the game lately. He can't keep track of who was hooked and constantly gets caught out by DS when he used to be so anal about it. On survivor he'll just criticize his teammates for not doing things he's not doing either. His awareness just seems completely shot and he's not playing his best. He seems really frustrated with the game right now and that he's not enjoying it.
I say this as someone who has always kind of enjoyed watching Tru3 as a guilty pleasure even though I do recognize why a lot of people dislike him. I tend to turn him off when he gets to be too much and starts arguing heavily with chat. He acts like he's the most logical being on earth and nobody understands the game as well as he does. Many of his criticisms of the game are valid, but he has this crazy victim complex and just can't let it go when anyone says the smallest thing that disagrees with him. He gets damn near insufferable and just can't stop. Lately it's just all the time and he seems like he's on a crazy downward spiral and desperately needs to take some vacation or something.

Killer emblems and ranking is just busted in my opinion. What's required to get anything beyond black pip pretty much requires potato survivors or lots of slugging.
The game is in a really weird state right now and they don't know how to calculate a decent conditions for killer. It's partially why the new hook meter is sort of designed to show you accomplishing more than you are even if you one hook someone.
-
I wouldn't say it's just the "bad" players. It's just that this game has a huge range of skill levels. Killers appear very strong at low to mid range play, and good survivors can dominate when all players are of high skill especially with SWF.
At it's core, DBD is a very casual game where most people tend to gravitate to one side and dig their heels in. Many speak against the other side, either from a position of ignorance or ignoring their bias, refusing to acknowledge the pitfalls of the other side.
Top level streamers who offer constructive criticism often come under attack more than they have people listen to them. Other streamers have given up and just tell players what they want to hear.
Anyone on this forum can see how much infighting there is and people who are unwilling to hear what other people have to say. The state of the game is what it is because of this. There's simply too many people all asking for different things. You can blame the "bad" players but it's an oversimplification.

That really doesn't make any sense. Clown wouldn't be able to use his purple bottles effectively. Any slowdown he would gain from them would be lost trying to avoid them, or running through them.
No amount of balance could make that fun. It would destroy him.

I'm with you on the positioning. The glance value of information is all over the place in a game that needs you to constantly focus on your surroundings.
We needed a clean way to bring information closer, not spread it apart.
There's some interesting ideas in there I don't hate the modernization. Killers knowing what the obsession looks like is great. Knowing what hook people are on let's you know if it's worth taking hits for them. Hook counter seems silly when 12 hooking is rare in high level play.
I'd love it we had control on positioning the UI elements ourselves, or hiding the ones we don't care about.

Most of the toxic survivors just don't understand killer. Their expectations of how a game should go often don't reflect what's reasonable for a killer to try and regain their momentum.
Survivors don't care if you 4k, they are never going to do you any favors. They will always try and stomp you. Their idea of fair is that they should be able to 1v1 you and that you shouldn't worry that there's 3 others out there.
You'll know deep down if you camped or intentionally tunneled at 5 gens. You'll never convince them to see from your perspective. Just gg and move on.
-
So my simple response to this is that the game only really gets real when you are at 2-3 gens left. As long as it's not a godly stack where they are super far away, you now have an ability to apply real pressure.
I do agree that they definitely need to address that sometimes gens go too fast in the early game. If survivors spread out properly they can definitely bang out multiple gens early with no way for you to be everywhere at once.
This always sucks because you're immediately in a rough game with a massive disadvantage of having nobody leaving the game anytime soon.
These games get to me the least because I just feel like the survivors did everything right when it's their game to lose. My personal win ceases to be a 4k, but to find some other win condition that makes it still feel like I accomplished something.
I do wish that they added something like completing a gen causes all live gens to surge. Ones actively being works on have a difficult skill check and active one's not being worked on get a tiny pop so SWF can't synchronize stopping briefly.

Killer has a huge drop off at lower ranks. Many people want to deny that the game doesn't favor survivor at red to purple ranks. Unfortunately for those people, lots of killer mains disagree.
Red rank killer is just non-stop pressure of trying to hold on to a game that is barely yours to control. It's just really not fun in its current state. I do one game and I'm completely spent and just queue survivor to be back on the side that gets to be dominant and play with the killer.
I don't think this game will ever feel balanced where both sides can find enjoyment in most of their games.
-
I fully agree that I don't think the game should ever end this fast. You made some obvious mistakes that a lot of people here will gladly nitpick but you didn't really stand a chance.
Games like that you really just need to shrug off. They were likely a SWF with good communication and they knew how to hard counter a Legion. The best way to win against legion is to try and force a quick game and they did exactly that. They didn't try to heal against you, they stayed apart and hammered out single person gens. The people buying time knew the looping basics at two of the stronger looping spots.
If survivors do most everything right and you don't get a little bit lucky, it's really their game to lose sometimes. Nobody really enjoys a game that fast, they got more bloodpoints than you but probably still not much.

Well there’s the logic of HOW the survivors are communicating this if they’re not close by to each other.
The same way we can see auras of people super far away. It's not like the killer actually plays their terror radius from a pocket speaker. There's plenty of in game logic to support players having extra sensory perception.

Good players get their satisfaction from playing well. Bullies get their satisfaction from being jerks to others. Most are compensating for something and need to make themselves feel superior.
The best players in this game will understand the rng, natural imbalance or myriad of things that can lead to either side having a bad game. They'll respect the difference between straight up tunneling and taking advantage of a poor escape attempt.
People who respect the game understand they can't win every game and one sweaty play does not make a killer/survivor evil. They don't need to drive players away or support others making people miserable. It's of no benefit of anyone.
-
Lots of SWF groups where 2 are high rank and 2 are low rank will give the impression that matchmaking is broken.
I've been on both sides of this and the hope is that we get a killer that matches our best players. It doesn't always happen.
The new bloods get a better chance to learn their limits but the killer suffers.
One good thing to learn as an early killer is when to abandon a chase. I can't recommended that enough. Focus the weaker survivors and the red ranks will throw themselves in your way so that their newbie friends can get out.
-
Just accept you're in for a rough game and it's not really your fault if survivors stomp you.
I tend not to mind learning new killers, doing my shrine runs with barely leveled killers.
Survivors will rush the game as usual and often you lack the perks to slow them down. If they want to be toxic when you have 2 yellow perks and they all have 4 people meta perks, they look silly.
I do wish that the game gave a little more points in cases where the odds are stacked against you. Maybe one day they'll get the killer based matchmaking working again.

Just to clear up some things.
Camping a hook, means standing real close and watching it while doing nothing else. Patrolling nearby because you know someone is close, kicking gens is fair game. Running back to the hook when someone unhooks is fair game. You have to use your knowledge of where people are to your advantage when you can.
Tunneling is when you purposefully chase the injured person who just got unhooked to hook them 3 times before you hook anyone else. If you try to chase others only for the unhooked person to cross your path from poor hiding skills/choices, they are totally fair game. I also think slugging them is a fair compromise to slow down survivors without outright punishing them.
Trying too hard to play nice is a surefire way to lose. Survivors won't do you favors to repay your kindness. Only the really toxic players refuse to accept that you have conditions to fill to try and secure your win.
Tunneling also becomes so somewhat permissible if you're down a bunch of gens. Guarding a hook is a strategy when all gens are done. Often players will get stupidly altruistic during end game collapse and you are allowed to punish it.

Played a "will you Mori me" two nights ago. You bet I used an iridescent Mori on them and only them.
Expected salt, got salt.

Everytime I get a ttv player I expect sweaty SWF who are going to troll me. But those kinds of groups are plentiful without the warning anyways. I don't make it my life goal to make ttv players miserable and most end up pretty chill and not mad at you returning their sweat with your own.
I've gone and given someone a follow after if they are nice in end game chat. This is just a game after all. Sometimes I like to watch vods and see what people say. It's an interesting perspective to see people question your plays or see how you just missed them.
Be kind, among your fellow players. The game is better when not everyone is being a jerk. A good twitch streamers can help bring more players to the game. I've had plenty of nice experiences with twitch streamers that honestly outweigh the nasty ones.

Playing perfectly by Survivor rules is a surefire way to lose. Survivors truly do have to be goofing around our make really bad mistakes to have the game not go their way if the survivor plays nice at all. Most survivors won't respect a killer who gives them an opening. They have 0 incentive to make the game more enjoyable for killers.
You have to try to catch people going for unhooks a little bit. You need to try to take out a survivor relatively quickly to maintain any sort of pressure to movie between gens, especially in SWF. This isn't sweaty even if many survivors will still act that way.
That said, you don't need to camp hooks. You don't have to always go for the person unhooked to get them out immediately. You don't need to ensure a 4k every single game. There's a healthy middle ground and toxic people on both sides will get angry regardless.
-
Limited pool of players sometimes.
There's way more survivors than killers at red ranks because the gameplay loop kind of diminishes the better survivors are. Lots of killers get bored when it's really the survivors hunting you and blasting gens. The killer toolkit shrinks and playing a variety of killers where you have lessor perks can be miserable, where survivors have no real reason to mix up their survivors.
It's good practice in a way if you just don't let the losses get to you. I do wish there was a bit of a bloodpoint bonus for playing people way better rank than you. Like a minimum amount for being way out of your league.
Here's to hoping they figure out their killer based matchmaking one of these days.

All the survivors I've been playing tonight are ultra greedy. Running brand new parts and not able to concede that Gen is a lost cause. Trying to blatantly rat gens in my face.
I have SWF rushing me to sabotage hooks and flashlight poorly. Unhooking the second I turn around. People are paying so sloppy in my games that I'm just crushing them without trying.
I'm not going to drag out games if people want to feed me kills. I don't need to play by Survivor rules to maximize blood point efficiency. I can just jump into another game that's also double points.
Getting tons of salt, getting called a tunneler for not ignoring unsafe unhooks even if I chase the one who did the unhook. Toxic survivors are out in full force too.
-
It's really just the nature of the game. At high skill level the survivors are mostly the ones in control and they aren't afraid of the killer really. They just constantly try to toy with them.
Survivor games barely change. You do gens and you try to loop. All the survivors are the same. Survivors expect to win every game and really it's their game to lose. I think toxic survivor mains mostly have to add this extra component of picking on killers to have fun, while also getting angry if killers don't pay right.
Killers can mix it up. Often paying killers they aren't entirely good at. We know when we've had as bad game and we never expect to win 100% of the time. We know exactly what to expect from survivors. Winning is satisfying enough and we don't take losses too hard. We have tons more ways to lose making it easier to swallow.

The amount of DC's is getting insufferable. I almost think I'd they aren't going to fix it they should extend the rift by a week or something. I have so many games get ruined where challenges become near impossible to complete because of DC's every other game.
I can't help but feel that once we get closer to the end my only solution will be to join in on the DC fiesta to maximize my time. I just want people to so having 0 repercussions for abandoning a game that doesn't start flawlessly for them.
-
Most twitch streamers are just normal dudes with a handful of viewers. Occasionally I get a really toxic one who just thinks they're hot stuff or needing to show off.
I've followed a few TTV people just to be nice if they aren't super sweaty or insulting. But then again I do my best to combat the huge levels of toxicity in this game.
I would prefer people watching to think the game isn't all full of face campers. Why people go out of their way to chase other players away has never made sense to me.
