Red Forest Visual Update
Poor trapper loses another map with actual grass.

Given the history of 2022 killer buffs, I wouldnt anticipate much movement at all on Knight. He will stay very comfortable where he is now for the next 6 months or more, unless they decide to skip passes on Sadako, Dredge, Wesker (likely), and Twins.
-
Honestly for me its to try and not take the game terribly seriously, and play things you find fun regardless of power level. I love Trapper and Sadako. They are not objectively strong killers, but I enjoy them. If you get a 4k great. If you get only 1k, thats fine.
And if you start getting frustrated because you did take the game too seriously, like I did yesterday (2 games in a row where the surv objective that game was to chain flashlight stuns), then just take a break and play Sonic or something.
-
I tried it with Sadako and realized quicklly that since i start demanifested, I couldnt attack anyone until I used the serum. It was a terrible game rife with bad luck, terrible ISP performance, and nothing working, so I wasnt in-game long enough to see how it is mid- or end-game.

This was topic in another thread and the devs took notice about it and will likely change it if needed.
Downing someone with M1 or power will trigger final mori, but there's several abnormal means that put survivors into the dieing state that I'm not even sure if it will trigger it or not.
Zombie slap, wesker slam into carry, slow/med vault/locker grab, fail to mend, Trappers purple add on and peek a boo Dredge from locker.
We already saw in the known issues section for the patch that Victor downing someone doesn't trigger it, so I wouldnt be surprised to see other means not being accounted for.

One of the things that drives me up the wall about the mori change is that it requires SO MANY CHANGES to the game for almost no benefit.
Deliverance, Unbreakable, Decisive Strike, Power Struggle, Flip Flop all just had their potential reduced because of the fact that bad luck will negate any potential escape you couldve made with them. Players who used to hold Unbreakable close to their chest unless it was actually needed. A last minute power struggle escape that results in rescuing other players and keeping the game going is no longer possible.
Killer perks like Deerstalker, Rancor, Devour Hope have become worse because of the side effects of the change.
Mori challenges are now uncontrollable as OP had stated.
Mori offerings cost X amount of bloodpoints for a bloodpoint reward that isnt guaranteed to happen, and is less effective than just using a survivor pudding.
Archives exist that requiring hooking 4 people in the basement, crawling to the hatch, etc. Those will have to be changed.
Achievements on console and steam will have to all be looked at to make sure they can still be accomplished.
Player agency is being removed for the sake of a cutscene that will happen sometimes.
BHVR is putting man hours into evaluating the entire game to make sure this cutscene system functions, when im not sure if anyone wanted this in the first place.

My go-to Sadako build these days is
Hex: Haunted Ground
Hex: Huntress' Lullaby
Scourge Hook: Floods of Rage
Hex: Undying
Add-ons: Pinwheel and Ring Drawing
Gives plenty of opportunities to know when and where to teleport to as players regress their gens, break my totems, or just happen to be caught by happenstance, and with upwards of 2 minutes of exposed the lethality isn't bad either. Ive had good luck with the Rickety Pinwheel as extra stealth, and Ring Drawing occasionally gives me a chance at Mori when someone is being too altruistic.

I can actually live with the basekit BT if they do several sweeps to balance it for the purposes of avoiding BM slugging (making it work only when x are slugged, or when theres only x people left, or after x seconds). There is a time and place for it to work.
But the entirety of the Mori rework is crap. It forces every game to end with a Cypress Mori, and to hell with everything else in the game. It reeks of pet project that wasn't thought out.
Don't ruin niche perks for the sake of a cutscene
Don't force the dev team to do a deep dive of every achievement, challenge, archive, and perk in the game to make sure that your cool mori cutscene at the end of the game actually works with the rest of the game.
Dont reduce options for the killer and survivor. If the hatch hasnt been found yet and the last survivor goes down with an active Decisive Strike or Flip Flop, it shouldn't straight kill them. The players should have the opportunity to play the scenario out.
Basically, dont go through with this Mori rework.
-
I don't like any aspect of the Mori change at this point. It seems like it was someone's pet idea that theyre really really wanting to push, to the detriment of everything else.
It removes mori from niche perks for Killer
It removes the flexibility to strategically Mori with the offerings.
It actually reduces the number of Moris that can happen in the game.
It makes all killer victorious games end the same.
It necessitated an overhaul in how the game is played due to the negation of anything that could happen after the final survivor is downed, as well as the addition of baseline BT and all of the warts that come with that ( i dont know if it wouldve been considered as a solution had the mori change not been introduced)
It forces the dev team retouching 5 years worth of challenges and perks in order to make sure nothing is broken (4 basement hooks challenge, crawl to hatch challenge, etc)
I believe this whole aspect of the update is a misstep and will actively hurt the game overall. If we need to approach the slug issue, we can do it without the albatross of the mori rework attached to it. Leave moris alone and we can actually debate the merits of the changes.

I love her to death and she has effectively become my main, but she is not a good killer. Condemned rarely appears, much less provides pressure. TV directions being effectively random make TP chases troublesome. Her add-ons arent freddy-tier, but she's not going to win awards for them either.
As for solutions, ive seen all sorts. A regular one people suggest is that she should be able to walk through pallets while demanifested, but i dont know if that would just create bigger problems later.
I still enjoy her every time i play, but I accept the fact that i will lose regularly.
